uhm, a fill station would be used to tap from your scuba tank to your paintball tank. IE, they have a scuba fill attachment that works with your scuba tank, but without a fill adaptor, you can't get that air into your HPA tank on your gun.

your best bet might be to rent a bottle from a scuba shop if there are no places near you that fill air. Otherwise, you would have to call and ask your local scuba shops.

Be warned: most SCUBA shops will only fill tanks of folks who are certified divers with their certification cards. They do not want any part of the liability of some uncertified person assuming room temperature while using their air tank on a dive.

I bought a new scuba tank for $170. This included 25 free fills (at $4 a fill), so my net cost is $70 for the tank.

You might want to investigate the local scuba shops for deals like that, or possible used tanks for sale. Most of them will sell you a tank and fill it if you sign one of their waivers stating that it will not be used for scuba diving.

Is that a ditch behind me?

Is this gun I borrowed any good?

I bought a new tank for $130 including 10 free fills. I looked for a used tank but had a tough time finding a 80CU 3000PSI AL tank, so I had to buy new.

SCUBA certification is not always necessary. Many shops will have you sign a release that you are using the tank for paintball.

A couple of shops (CA Bay Area) I called seemed a bit curious about paintballers. I bet they'd help you fill your tank if you explained you situation (and that you expect to buy a new tank from them in the near future). Good luck.

                      SCUBA fills

1 Tank seems to drop off quite a bit for me. I only get a handful of fills over 2500PSI on a full SCUBA. I do get a bunch of fills at around 2k PSI, though so 4 of my friends can play all day with this one SCUBA tank, filling our tanks every game or 2. We have a couple of 68CI tanks and 3 47CI tanks. I play woods primarily, 10 on 10.

I usually play at a private field or Bear Creek. I'd like to start playing more speedball, so I might start going to Sunol again. Played once at WAP, really had a good time. Too bad it's so far from San Jose.

It depends on what size & pressure tank you get. Best ones to get are the 300 bar (4500psi) 12 litre (not sure what that is in US sizes).

Most scuba divers in the UK seem to use 211 bar (3000psi) tanks for diving, but most shops will still be able to fill the 300 bar tanks.
