I dont think it would.........because cutting it took ALOT more heat to melt it complettely. to get it hot enough to bend would require alot less heat.........

but if it did turn white, the hose might hide it. If all else fails, you could just cut it if the melting idea didn't work........you would be back where you are now, but if the melting worked, it would not have hole in it

LOL true. I don't think I am brave enough to do that to my HALO.

What tool exactly did you use. I look for Pyro Cutter and all I see is parachute and rescue websites. Any info would be helpful.

The melting method won't work on the HaloB (at least I think so).
You could heat enough the external shell to melt it, but not the "floor" which is above the batteries.

Sorry for my english, sometimes I wish I was born in another country than mine (where we speak french ) .

Actually I'm not sure it's the real name. You're right a pyrocuter is used to cut cables (a kind a explosive bolt, but for a cable). My fault, sorry.

            Here's a link to the tool I used: http://www.portasol.com/prof.htm

Does a normal soldering iron get hot enough?

a "normal" soldering iron will get up to 900 degrees F.(although most people set them for 650-700) that will melt through most plastics, unless it is specifically designed to be a high temp plastic.
