    Complete Listing of Paintball Patents

    All,

Here is an interesting list of almost all the paintball patents put together by Michael 'Have Blue' Guslick. They are interesting to look through and see who patents what. Even more interesting are the patents that you DON'T see because they didn't have anything to patent. You can see from the list who is doing creative stuff and who isn't.

Good to know that somone of Tom's status seeks "relief" from a sport he helped create. A sport now ruled by a single patent.

Ack! It's Delphion! These people are sending me junk email at work everyday. Ok, like you all care.
I use the government site for my patent searches. Yeah, yeah. I'll shut up now.

            Question for Tom,

This is a patent on the Powerfeed. I was under the impression that you invented this and never patented it...

            Care to comment on this?

Actually I believe that it was the PMI 3/VM 68 that first came out with the power feed but I could be wrong so don't quote me on that.

Thanks for posting the link, Tom. If anyone comes across additional paintball patents, please drop me a line (I'm sure I've missed a couple in digging through the patent servers).

Regarding the links to Delphion - I originally had all the patent links pointing to the appropriate pages on Delphion, but then they announced that they were going to begin charging for access... I then began adding in links to the USPTO's patents as well as .pdf files of the patents themselves (certainly the easiest way to read them, in my opinion). I keep adding more .pdf files every so often, but they do take time to create (I have to use a backdoor into Delphion to nab one .pdf page at a time).

Regarding the powerfeed, the PMI-3/VM-68 never had a powerfeed - just a rather blocky direct-feed mounting (the very same one as used on Sheridan's short-lived Equalizer). Pro-Team later came out with a powerfeed that mounts in place of the direct feed block.

Yes we DID invent the power feed in 1990, if you check the date on this guys patent is was much later. The patent office doesn't check to see if there is anyone else already making the invention they just take your money and check the other patents. No we didn't patent it because we didn't think anyone else would use it.

That makes the patent null and void...

For all intents and purposes the patent is useless. Due to prior art, or AGDs use of the powerfeed, the patent holder can never enforce the patent.
