It has both. A sear and a selenoid activation with a processor. And in fact the Emag is the only one that operates in both full electonic a hybrid of the two and manual for exactly that reason . Let me assure you it is a full electonic marker and then some!

Where did you hear something with a sear could not be an electronic marker? Thats erroneous info.

Ok well if an E-mag has no sear then what would this be used for?

i think hoppysmag took too many pills. an emag isnt really electro pneumatic. it is electro but not electro pneumatic. electro pneumatic markers use a VALVE that is controlled electronically. and you can adjust the time the valve stays open with valve DWELL. an example would be an impulse; the solenoid switches air flow to drive the ram/hammer into the valve and to bring it back. an emag just uses a solenoid plunger to trip the sear(naturally with mags when the sear is tripped the on/off valve is shut). so really the emag is nowhere near electro pneumatic. now when it comes to using a hyper frame on a retro mag vs. an emag. the emag is not only a better value for your money but also the emag doesnt have tolerance issues like the hyperframe mag does. the hyper frames are nitorious for chewing up sears and bolts like crazy. my friend has a boo-yah framed mag in the shop right now cuz of a worn sear.

If the emag has a sear why wouldn't it use it? How could it not use it?

What are you people talking about? where did i say the Emag didnt have a sear??? qoute me... the fact is the Emag is better than the aftermarket E-grips. ok mabey i should clarify, a sear tripper to me is just a object that bounces the sear back and forth to shoot... an RT on runaway to me is "triping the sear". and Emag does not trip the sear... i dont care how you want to agrue that with your poor logic.

The E-mag and a Hypermag both operate in the same way, both "trip sears" I still don't really see how you can classify the E-mag as an electropneumatic marker.

ok fine im not in the mood for agrueing and i was probibly wrong anyway ( being i dont even have an Emag) but a Mako fram or hyper frame doesnt compare... ( i still dont think its the same as a sear tripper but what ever, i know it had a sear too.)

I love my Mini/Hyper setup. Hasn't failed me and will shoot 13bps per second. I don't particularly like the Emag trigger - I prefer my mouse click. My battery never dies because like most people who take this sport seriously, my marker comes prepared every weekend with freshly charged batteries. And to top it all off, my mag wieghs half as much as a Emag.

Yeah I have to say I know two people at my field that have hypermags (a retro and a classic) and both of them have worked flawlessly, but on the otherhand I know someone who tried to put a Boo-yah on their mag and it didn't turn out so well.
