    Aluminum Valve for Steel Valve?

Will Agd do some kind of trade in your old steel rt valve for the newer aluminum rt valves(like the valves in x-mags)?
set up: Micro e-mag with 32 degree chrome flame drop, Level 10, 88/4500 crossfire, 12 in CP, 32 degree whisper and ARADUS 14in barrel, EVO II.

That would be cool but I doubt anything like will happen for a long time, or at least once the demand for extremes goes down which won't be for a long time. If it does happen I'll be trading in my steel retro for an aluminum valve for sure.

w/e id take the aluminum anyday... well mabey thats cause i got a classic valve and it weighs more than half of the gun... wonder how much lighter a retro is than a classic, or a alumin retro than a normal retro. anyone got the weight on all 3 of these?

I doubt the steel valves would last any longer than the aluminum ones. They should have been making them out of aluminum a long time ago if you ask me.

I was wondering when the Aluminum
valves were going to go on sale. I would like to purchase one. From what I understand the reason that the Extremes are taking a while to come out is the body not the valve. What do you guys think?

Yes. It is avalability of the Bodies is the hold up at this point on the X's. Not the valves anymore.

Aluminum is softer. We do know that for a fact. And over the years it will show wear much faster. Since we have no "in the field" longevity experience with them to compair too, we must speculate. We know there will be some issues with the threads where the field strip screw goes in to these Aluminum valves. And any place its threaded will have the potential to cross thread and screw the threading much easier than on a SS Valve. Where else it will wear and how long is anyones guess. But its much softer so it can be expected. But you, the customers, wanted it so you got it. But be prepared to deal with it and treat them a lot more carefully than you did the SS ones.

But that said...we have SS valve that are still in great shape after 20 years! We do know they hold up.

Isn't anodised aluminium harder than stainless steel? one of the reasons we anno things. I think it may depend o what type of anno process you use though.

Granted if you over torque the strip screw you are more likely to strip the threads but I don't personally think it will be an issue.

With my gun you can tell the difference in weight due to the ally or steel valve but only in the staging area :) I've never noticed the difference on the field.

If I were trying to put together the lightest gun I'd use an ally valve. The retro valve already has an ally back. The most weight difference will be when comparing it to a classic all stainless valve.

This is not true. Names are everything! Heck, it is a known fact that if you take a Mag and rename it "Cocker", it will shoot farther.

Another point of fact.... BS smells so bad because it is named as such. Want to change the way is smells? Change the name..... just ask WAS.

Shame on thee who does not know the power of a name!!!!!
