    polishing body rail

I was going to buy the chrome omega body rail but before i do, i decided to polish the stock body rail. I was able to get the anodizing off, and start polishing it, I just wanted your opinions. Do you think i should continue and use the stock rail, or just get the omega rail. Im not finished polishing it the pics show 20 min worth of work i just wanted to show you how its coming.

The first two pics show when i took the anodizing off.

The next two are of the other side after i started polishing it.

you could also send the stock rail to a guy named tyson machado on the board and he can make you a custom rail.

i was thinking of polishing my rail too but it seemed a little weird trying it on an unexposed part. i think im gunna get a dremel first and cut off the back part and that little front part before id do that

                    Brasso works wonders.
i dont like signatures. so i turned them off. AO is much better this way.

get sandpaper, i think people start with 600 and work on up to 2000, also using Mothers Mag Polish (i think you can get it at most autopart stores) will make it look good.
then polish it up occasionally with brasso, or clear coat it if you can...

If you don't coat it, it will require frequent touching-up. Aluminum forms a coat of surface oxidation rather quickly, and it holds prints well.

yeah i noticed you'll have to rebuffer them again to get that shine,i'l probably sand mine down with higher grit, buff it once more then coat it.
and yeah i find it hard to take pictures that do justice as well. it pisses me off
