Yes, it would be bad if you were caught with a stolen gun. Even with proof that you bought it through ebay, I wouldnt want to go through all that hassle. Im pretty positive that eBay has insurance for things like this too

Maybe if you could post up a picture of that gun, one of us might recognize it as stolen.

Just a suggestion; you're a really good guy.

I don't have the marker with me, right now I have it at a local paintball shop getting a tune/check-up. The rear (reg adjuster half) sn is EM00047 and I forgot what the front half is. Come Monday I will call AGD and find out more info about the history of the marker.

Thanks for the help, I'll post the results.

        Rob

        Edit*

I forgot I had pics from the eBay site. This is pretty much how I received the marker.

Unless you stole it and have a guilty consence on you, telling you to give it back.
Perhaps rather than a "weird person" he is a law abiding citizen who actually cares about others. Not only is it morally correct to return something to someone if it was stolen (I'm sure if you had something stolen you would want it returned regardless of whether it had been sold) but it is required by law. Being in posession of stolen property is a prosecutable crime.

Rob's Computer - what is the name engraved on it? There were a number of early E-Mags that were given to wholesale sales reps a few years back as sales bonuses, all with their name laser engraved vertically on the battery back. Knowing the name would definitely help track it. I believe a number of them were then resold by the recipients, so the name is not a likely indicator of it being stolen. Chances are pretty good that any of the recipients of these bonus guns are people with a few different paintguns on hand, so swapping reg parts is not unreasonable to believe as a legit thing.

Look at the laser engraving on the valve. It's a REAL early one. The Emag valve doesn't look like that anymore...

              Oh yeah- robscomputer-

Thanks everyone for their help and especially Bill Mills for the puzzle solving hint on the name.

Here's the good news and bad.

First the good news, the marker is not stolen. The name on the marker is Derek Stetsion (sp?) who is a rep from National Paintball Supply. He received the E-Mag through AGD described by Bill Mills. I'm assuming he is a large seller of AGD products. Well Derek traded Pro-Team in Florida, for a E-Mag Micro using the E-Mag as a trade-in. Then the seller who I bought the E-Mag from purchased it from Pro-Team in Florida. Pro-Team also installed the Level 10 kit which didn't fit the powertube so they traded him another powertube instead of sending it to AGD.

Now the not so bad news.

AGD said they can credit me $100 for the valve and purchase a new E-Mag valve for $225. Not bad and I can get a new battery case for $40, to take care of the engraving.

I want to thank everyone again for their help. I feel like a FBI agent tracing a firearm. lol

Here's what I would do. Buy one of the Frymarker's EMag battery covers For $35 shipped. Not only will it look better, but you'll save money. Also, I'd keep the valve. In the unlikely event that something happens to your EMag that can't be fixed by yourself, a friend, local AO member, or a store, then I'd go ahead and buy a new one. Barring that, it's just a waste of money.

well. in my opinion i wouldn't do the trade in AGD said. if it works, great. why bother spending 225 to get the same numbers? mags are easy to fix so. i doubt it'll be a time where you MUST send it in to AGD. by then. you'll have enough time to buy a xmag

                        Nice guys finish first.

                        Good job.

I say leave it as is! Why mess with it for a few cosmetic things. It is not for a beauty contest, but to light people up with.

                        Either way Good Luck!

Well the valve I am not worried about, and the battery pack isn't a big deal. Just didn't like people calling me Derek at the field.

                          Thanks

lol. yeah i can see where that leads to "hey derek nice gun.."
                            "i'm not derek"
then they think you stole it and kinda get skidish leaving their stuff around you
