What happens to AGD valves traded for Xvalves?

Just wonderin what happens to the Classic and Retro valves that get traded in for a new Xvalve.

Is it possible to buy one of these used, or get a recon Retro valve from AGD?

    If so how much???

It would be a sort of recycling...

AGD melts down the ReTro Valves too. Tom said you can't buy a turned-in valve because AGD has to pay to fix them if they get sent in for fixing and there's no point to that so they melt 'em down "to get them out of circulation" as EsPo said.

        That's a real waste.
I have a 7 year old L7 Mag valve now running LX with no probs, but I would love to upgrade to a Retro.

I guess the prices for 2nd hand Retro's should be coming down now...

HAHA That's what the elves want you to think Tom, but the elves really just send them to Mount Doom where they are tossed into the fiery aybss; for old ReTro and Classic valves are evil, and the new X-Valve is pure good!

I dunno, you could turn old valves into a revenue stream. I'd happy pay $60 for an old used AIR with no warrenty, and the serial number polished off. $45 rebuild fee would obviously apply if someone decided to send it to be fixed.....

but it would get many more people into mags.

Bad idea, then you got valves with no warranties that can run into lots of problems and can just create even more bad karma for AGD and their products. AGD doesn't need anymore negative stigma attached to teh company.

I think trashing/melting the classics isn't that bad due to it being "old technology", however the retro valve is still a retro valve. They are the same except for the ss front. There sould be no reason why you can sell these at a reduced or close to the original price. Heck I'd be the first in line for that!

What's the point of melting them down?
I think they just refurburish(sp) them change the serial number and recycle them for the new automags this way it would be more cost effective.
