1st of all, what type of player are you? agressive, defensive, woods, speedball, front, mid, back? assuming from the fact that you have an RT you are not a woods player, but who knows. well i have a minimag w/ an x-valve, so our guns are mechanically the same, not that it would matter anyway. i have a 12 in all american, but i still use the stock 8 in barrel as well...depends on the paint cause the 2 are different bore sizes. reason i posted this thread, and how it all came up was i couldn't decide between a 10, or a 12 inch tip for the J&J edge kit i'm going to order in the near future...either way, i may end up getting an 8in tip from J&J direct anyway, so i might get all 3 tips, 8, 10, and 12....what do you guys think about that? having those 3 lengths? keep in mind i am a front player, and i like it tight...i mean i play tight

Use different barrels depending on the playing situation.

I use a 16" for air fields and 8.5" for wooden bunkers when playing tournaments. I try to use the most efficient barrel for general use. That usually depends on the venting. My 12" gives me an effective length of about 8" which is fairly efficient. I think the best efficiency in a mag is with a solid 10-11 inch barrel.

It's all about the 44" barrels. When you start and put your barrel on the tape, you'll be practically behind a bunker. You can move the air bunker in front of the one you're at and shoot out. Plus it's super accurate. Like I said, it's all about the 44" barrels.

16 is too long for me to sight down well. I like 14 the best. It gives me the edge in airball because I can push the bunker with the barrel.

Mid/back player. 18" barrel. It's the bomb for hyperball and Sup air, because you can stick the barrel through all sorts of slots in Hyperball and wrap bunkers in Sup Air. I throw a 12" on for anything else.
