JT lenses shizzle my saftey nizzle.

I was balling it up at the FBM north hanover field with Shag and he had an old spectra lense that was cracking at the nose. Hense, it wasn't exactly 100% safe so he was about to throw it out and said "Bet you some guy sees this thing and decides to use it, then gets beaned in the eye". So, to prevent any accidents, we tried snapping the lense in half. We got both ends to touch in either direction, and and still didn't split or have any deep cracks!

If that doesn't meet saftey regulations, I have no idea what would. Just thought I'd let you guys know just how strong those things are.

I've seen ALOT of Spectra lenses with craks like that... And even though you couldn't break it by flexing it, I would still be uncomfortable about getting hit by something traveling at over 200 mph.

      DYE Invision all the way!!!

Yeah, the crack thing is kinda uncool.

About the invision - I'd definitely go with one if I had the money, but I got a spectra w/ therma-lens early and cheap, and it's suited me fine thus far!!

I'm in the same boat, got a proteus for cheap... No major complaints or problems, but as soon as I feel I can spend $80 for a mask instead of a case-and-a-half of paint, I'm springin' for an invision.

I did the same thing with a a spectra lense that had a little crack. After cracking it down the middle, not completely split, I put it in a cardboard box and shot it about 50 times from 5 feet away until it finaly split in half.

            I was throughly impressed.

I doubt I will ever get a non-JT mask. My flex is comfy and good protector. I love you flexy.

Dye goggles are uncomfortable as hell. Two of my friends bought them. They say it's the worst money they've spent. I tried it and agreed. The proteus has a greater field of vision and a lower profile so to speak. Why would you settle for less? :)

I forget who told me, but I was told that the spectras can be shot from a nylon paintball at point-blank range at 400 fps, and they would just crack down the middle, no shattering.

                          Well....

At an old outdoor field I used to play at, they used to have multiple masks (lenses and all) in the Target/Chrono Area. For a couple o months I would go up there during one summer, this one mask had its lense stay intact for a while (field was only open on Sat/Sun). But even so... anyone who went to chrono or just to shoot paint at the end of the day, would pelt this poor mask.

In any event... I went with JT Masks for 6ish years until the new V-Force Morph came out. Makes putting lenses back in a peice of cake, and you get used to the extended nose area fast.

JT: Great lenses in ultra-fragile masks.

I've watch the armor on a Spectra come apart under fire (Buddy got lit, 20 shots to the mask, ear and face shield came off).

The Flex 7's have a bad habit of losing ear pieces randomly.

No JT for me, ever again.

DYE Invisions look cool, but are way too small.

I wear a V-Force Morph these days, my backup is an old BE logo Shield (The BE Shields and VForce Shields are identical, no matter what VForce says, VForce lenses are notably better than the Z-Leader lenses that shipped with the BE's though)
