could anyone ID this old old marker?

This came into the shop today and Ive never seen anything like it.

From taking it apart I'm fairly certain its a very old tippmann marker. Does anyone have any information on this at all?
"it constantly leaked from the 3 way. I bought all new pneumatics and the leak just moved. I sat down and looked over Ravi's cocker site and messed with it and it still did'nt work right. I took it to a local "cocker expert and it worked ok until I got it home. Needless to say I have never had the urge to throw something off a cliff more." - Load SM5 on owning an Autococker

        SMG 60?

It has to be one of the early Tippies, does it go fully automatic? It looks like an SMG-60...im almost dead sure thats the name but its def a Tippy, one of the first good c02 markers IMO. lol hope that helps

          is it

is it fed by a clip on the side and the trigger is rather long pull. if so u pull it a little for semi auto one shot and u pull it all the way back for full auto.

It may be a modified SMG68, the rear half is definitely from the SMG series, adapted to gravity feed due to the lack of strip clips to feed it.

It's a Tippman 68 Special. No doubt, had one.

68 special - one of the best markers I ever owned. It shot no matter what the temp and and rarely broke paint for me.

I sold my over 3 years ago - after calling Tippmann for parts and they stating that there are none left available.

The 68 Special was just that but it was done by the factory.

You can even see where they joined the SMG back half to the new direct feed front half

It was an outstanding beast in it's day. Heavy and with a lot of kick, but reliable and I remember it being quite accurate.
