I tried and ditched the remote. It's really a hindrance for speedball (But mostly OK for woodsball).
What I don't like about remotes:
1. Harder to shoot offside (Hose gets in the way)
2. Gun doesn't balance nearly as well (Even with stock)
3. With 7 pods of paint, where do you expect me to put the bloody tank.
4. Tank on the back is supremely uncomfortable.
That said, if you're an itty bitty lil thang, try it. If you are over 5'3 and 120lbs, run on-gun. Any screwin tank will work with a remote, and most systems can be setup that way too.
And of course, it looks silly. But i expect the reasons Pro's don't use remotes have to do with shooting offside and the problems inherent with sprinting with 5lbs of tank on your back (Much heavier than paint, and harder too)

Although I am considering switching back due to budget. Where I play you have to pay for fills - and a 114 fill costs the same as the 68 I run on gun. Since I get less shots off a fill with the 'mag to begin with (due to ~800psi input requirement) I'm thinking cheap and seriously considering going back.
