FYI: non-ported tips for FREAK

I'm sure most of you already know this, but...

If you have a Freak and you don't want porting, White Wolf Airsmithing makes "RAW" (non-ported) Freak tips in 10", 13" and 15" lengths.

The tip on the right is "RAW" non-ported.

(Yes, they are replicas of Dye Boomsticks)

there really isn't a whole lot you can do to improve your efficiency. Matching your paint to your barrel is probably the only way I can think of. You could also go for a larger tank.

Something to think about...

For my Timmy, I have two bolts. The stock bolt has orings on the tip, and my checkit does not. The checkit bolt does not have orings because it has two grooves cut into the side of the bolt tip to allow for passage of the ball dents.

After some testing, I noticed that the stock bolt (same weight as the checkit bolt) gave higher fps... or better efficiency.

The oring made a better seal behind the ball and gave me better efficiency.

Although the Level 10 bolt does not have grooves on the tip of the bolt, would it benefit if orings were added to the tip?

What if someone milled out a small channel on the bolt tip and installed an o-ring... would that help?

That would definitely improve efficiency by making the most of the air in the valve.

It would also add an additional element of friction that would directly impact the performance of lvl 10, which may require more input pressure to overcome the added resistance. The higher input pressure would in turn lower the possible shot total.

Its entirely possible those two factors may balance each other out, the volume of air becomes more efficient while the required input PSI reduces the possible shot total.

Though it again means not being able to dig as deep into the tank. raising theoperating pressure of a blowforward supposedly increses it's efficancy. At least that was what I was told :-) The hypermag would be more efficant than a smartmag. But again you're going to run into the trap of not being able to dig as deep into a tank, and you will have to recalibrate the LX.

Lapco, J&J (longer J&J's have longer non ported lengths, thatholds true for evn the edge.. so a 14" edge would bwork as a nice long non ported barrel), and no others readily come to mind....

would an all american be all right on efficiency... because my friend has one that he could sell me... i know it is ported but the holes arent nearly as large and freaks so i was just wondering

it really has to do with the dump chamber design that automag uses , and you really won't see any dramatic differences unless you completely redesign the gun . If AGD wanted to make a pure electro they could make a valve without a dump chamber , have the on/off cycled by a linear solenoid and feed it directly to the bolt , but I don't see this happening any time soon .

while everyone is looking at my thread i was wondering if anyone has a valve they would sell me i have a mini mag coming in but no valve and i am also looking for an lx kit if you have those two that would be great thanks... i have cash or money order ready

Buy yourself the Xvalve, it comes with lvl 10 included.

i dont have enough money... i have about 400 dollars 50 more if really needed ....but i bought a

mini mag with intelliframe drop forward... but without any valve or bolt.... for 175
then i have about 150 for nitro
i have about 125 for valve and level ten so that doesnt leave much money
...
lmk if you know anyone with a valve and bolt preferably lx
