You have to admit, my revvy and most others break alot and the shells you buy in the stores are the same. That's all I realy care about. If they stuck to the low end stuff I would have no complaints, if I don;t have to use them I dont care about them, but when they expand and make lower quality merch that ends up costing us more I get pissed. I do have a reason to bash them kevmaster. As I said, if they wanted to stop it from the start they could have not realeased them but, no, they still sold them and offernd you another bad one if your bad one broke. You can't seriously think their tougher now. The old kind were great, the new ones havn't stood up on the feild were it actualy matters matters.

Like hell! I was just skimming over your rant before a full dissesemble of it and this caught my eye as a blatant smack, how much are you going to bet me that the xboard was not BOUGHT? I remember their puny little unknown crap website, boasting of this xboard that makes your revy better. After a while I noticed that BE bought the xboard and now included it with all its hoppers! Cool! But they didnt INVENT it! Brb with a longer, completely analysis about the rest of the rant. But for a little side note, you talk mostly about their MARKERS, I for one could care less, for what they cost they are fine to me. I am complaining about them buying companies and making them produce CRAP, JT especially, tiny little pads, cracking everything, and the new "Alpha" serious JUNK. I'm glad JT is mostly still JT and they are coming out with their own things, I hope it stays that way. Fortunatly, ive never had a problem with the hoppers and im happy with it

So Kev, I'm supposed to believe everything a VP or sales rep from BE tells me. Do you honestly think that they would tell you their products are garbage and they don't spend enough time with quality control ? Of course they're going to tell you what they told you. As for recalls on the Proteus, that seems like the only way to go for if 1 person loses an eye due to shoddy materials, that BE knew about and failed to fix, their profits could be gone for years. And as for replacing broken shells with more potentially crappy shells makes no sense to me. That just adds to the aggravation of the buyer who can't use his product because it keeps breaking. If the product is bad, for whatever reason, don't keep selling it. You eat the loss and learn from your mistake, that is if you want to keep your customer base happy. I don't own a business but I've gotta believe keeping the customer satisfied should be #1, not selling him crap at a cheap price. Now don't get me wrong I don't have any facts that can specifically state where they drop the ball but from my own experience and from seeing people at the field with endless problems with BE products, I've come to the conclusion that they could care less about making a good product, but more about making a cheap, problematic one.

I, for one, think BE sucks and will go far out of my way to not buy anything that they make.

on the hoppers...its kinda hard to move back in time and not release something when thousands of units were out on the market already. thousands more had been bought! What does BE do... ,Out of pocklet as someone said, offer free replacements to any whos broke. If yours breaks...they'll fix it! if it breaks again with the new ones, they fix it! FREE. what more do you ask?

on the Proteus...a lawsuit over TWO lost eyeballs will cost a company (well...their insurance. BE pays an insurance company a large amt of money each year. the insurance company pays fo all the lawsuits...but disregarding that) around 2-5 million dollars. thats half one year's profits...hell..thats a nice tax writeoff as a loss in cash here. BE doesnt want you toget hurt. thats the end of it. I dont think their execs sit around hoping someone will get hurt....ignoring financials.

no, you're not supposed to believe everything the BE VP of marketing tells you. you're not supposed to believe everything you hear. however, if he is lying about all this and if the guys i talk with are lying about this, they all have the same story down straight. i dont think 5 differnt guys in one company (at different levels of employment) would all have a straight story. I challenge you to disprove something i mentioned. prove they're lying and then we'll come back and negotiate

about the x-board...ive never heard tat, although i've never heard BE claim they invented it. I kinda assumed. Even if they did buy it, 1) its worked wonders and they have been able to produce it at a level nobody else could have and 2) whats wrong with that?

why did i talk alot about markers, because tats what people usually get pissed about. if you want, i'll go find out what tests the guys did exaclty on the revvies. Oh, and see for yourself in the WARPIG review of the new poly-whatever revvies. The preproduction ones were hot ****. Worked better than the ones that VL sold when they were bought by BE


where has the JT line gone down? specific examples pre and post BE. I argue that the JT Excellerators have been great. awsome markers. couldnt have happened without BE's help. Proteus. one of the hottest masks today. Jersies are looking great right now. JT is expaning even more into motocross and such.
No, BE does not directly control JT. They come in, give JT Xamt of money and then take the profits. the old owners of JT still work at JT and still have promenent(sp) jobs

the object of a business in most cases is not to make the customer happy...its to make money. thats what most businesses like to do...be able to have all their employees feed their families. Second, they are there (in BE's case) to make money for the shareholders. The shareholders make the decisions, they own the company. If you want to gipe, buy some stock, and be active about events of the comapny. send letters, call them...dont just ***** to other people on the 'net that "oh, BE sucks. Dont buy that junk"

Didn't there loader lid recipes change from the soft opaque one to the harder clear ones? While reffing I've seen a few of the clear ones crack but haven't seen any problems with the older soft ones.

I have no idea if that VP from BE was saying the truth or not, but I have to admit that that was a good post.

I guess alot of it is hearsay, but I no from my experience that my old Pre-BE revvy lasted longer than my teammates Post-BE revvy. Busted the feedneck and it just snapped right off. I guess it was in that bad batch or something, but rather than check it out with the company, he ordered a new set of shells from Pbgear.

I really don't think BE is that bad, but, whatever.

aaahh...yes...about the HALO.

Yes. Brass Eagle did sue Odyssey for patent infringement. (This lawsuit may be somewhat personal, as Tex --owner of Ody-- was a former VL employee as noted above.) However, their claim was ligitamate. BE filed suit in Greenville SC's federal court (Not coincidentally home of Paintball Inc--at the time the largest distributor of Halos). The claim was the HALO used an eye to detect the lack of a ball in the breech, which is patented by the Revvie hoppers. The suit was accepted (if it had been frivilous and erranious the cour would have thrown it out) and it went to trial. I dunno how far into trial it went, but during trial, both comapnies were unsure of the verdict and settled out of court. Odyssey paid BE an undisclosed sum of money, is forced to stop production on the HALO (version A) and can still produce the HALO B....the item they were selling at the time. Probably both sides paid their lawyers quite a bit of money for little gain in the court system.
thats hte odyssey v. brass eagle case. I dont know how thats "low"...they were merely protecting their intellectual property. Had they not sued, they would have been opened up for anyone to reproduce the revvie....because NOT defending a patent is saying it doesnt exist (from what i gather--Im not a lawyer)

all i've heard from you guys is crap about the paint...i dont really have a defense there either....no good reasons for it other than stuff happens and some paint sucks from all companies? I dunno...maybe i'll find out whos makin BE's paint these days..i know RPS makes the JT paints....maybe that will "shed" some of the blame from BE? who know....i gotta call BE's R&D guy this week anyways....we shall see

I think you're pushing it on 3 seconds, maybe 2. have had countless lids break off of revvies which really blows, im not sure what else because i would come with 20ft of a brass eagle marker. And for the moment i cant think of anything else they make.
