About that article, you have to realize there is a major difference between hurt and injured. I bet there are tons of people who claim they are hurt by paintball, but hardly any injured. I think both of these are a large matter of opinion. For example, I don't think I have stayed out of any sort of sport due to an injury, but I can continue playing with a sprained whatever, and would consider myself hurt.To me, saying you are hurt means you are complaining, saying you are injured means you are unable to participate. It all depends on how much pain you can suck up.

I'd say if you can't get them to go to the field to watch, buy a tape of paintball. If they refuse to view it, continiously watch it every chance you can. Eventually they will look at it and hopefully realize it isn't so bad.

i used that paintball would keep me from using drugs and stuff like that. it would make me want to save money for it, instead of blowing it on garbage. gave me a place to go and something to do. Interact with other people, and make new friends. it worked for me, good luck

I have money, they won't let me use it. I have a joint account with my mom which she regulates for me so she's restricting me from buying.
My parents won't drive me or sign the waver slips more than 4 times a year.
I know that I'm a slave to my parents and I told them I know they use me for that purpose and they say "I know that now go back to work"
When I said she wouldn't take care of a paintgun I mean that I wouldn't let her. She'd prolly break it.
My parents are about 60 fyi.
My parents let go of me a long time ago... We almost act like total strangers sometimes or we are at each other's throats. We usually do nothing for each other and we aren't really connected to each other either. My parents don't get along with each other very well. I don't don't get along with my parents very well either.

I can soak up most anything when it comes to paintball, overshooting, falls, arguements, money problems, etc. That's how much I like and appreciate paintball

My parents refuse to go to the field just because it's paintball...

My parents already know that I would never do drugs...

My parents know I have a lot of friends that are good people.

LOL. Thanks for the help, I think I'll join my friends team and buy the mag without their permission instead. I can always forge signatures. This a desperate measure but it is my last resort.

LOL AGAIN. I'm still gonna have to use my last resort.

At the fields here they're one time use only.

Now why didn't I think of that? I did that for breakdancing so I should try that for paintball.
Where do I buy paintball tapes?

                        IMO.... Get a girlfriend.

Now before you all shun me for not being on topic, let me explain. My parents and I were at each other's throats alot last year over my grades. This translated into them not letting me do stuff I wanted to do. Enter the Girlfriend. I gained a nicer disposition, and a reason to keep my grades up (gotta see her all the time). My parents and I started to get a little friendlier all the time. I then got to do all the stuff I wanted to. Now I can play paintball all the time. They still have problems with it b/c they dont' really understand. (i.e. I cannot keep my nitro tank in my room "because it might explode")

What you should take away from this: Just act a little nicer to your parents, it goes a long way. Not lame sucking up, but a sincere effort.

Downside to the g/f: Slightly less money for pball, but oh well, other kinds of fun are good.

Alternate: Show them AO, the multitudes of wonderfull people who paintball and all the knowledge they have. AO is a prime example of all the good aspects of the game: the good times, the good people, the friendships, the mag owner mentality, etc.

                        -Riot

BTW, my parents are pushing 60 as well, very set in their ways, but it works.

I'm a perfect example. I've broken 2 fingers and a knuckle from bowling, and only 1 bone in paintball. Paintball is WAY safer.

Hey miscue, what did you do? trip and fall? because it seems hard that a paintball could break a bone unless some moron accidentally shot off his gun in the neutral zone and hit u in the nose..

HEY Footemps...i hope your parents are religious and listen to what the church says...and that you're christian, because if you are go here http://www.righteouspaintball.com (i think putting a link to another site is allowed, if not i will remove it)

It's the field i play at, and it is sponsored by the baptist church, it has all this info about how safe paintball is and how it can help you grow i character and stuff, personally im not a church person myself at all, i will phrase it that way, but im sure your parents would consider it if they knew churches played paintball....worth a try

Let me just tell you something. I have seen some pretty wierd parents in my time and I must say,not actually being a parent, the logic that parents come up with is astounding. Look, lets be honest here....my mother would have thrown me into paintball head first if she knew what I did as a kid. She probably did actually. Tell them that you are actually out doing something constructive and getting excercise instead of being a waste of life. At 15 years of age there are a lot of bad things entering a kids life and paintball is NOT one of them. You do have very uptight parents, although they are still your parents and do love you, they are very uptight. I mean, paintball? At least you aren't out doing drugs and causing trouble. Vandalizing and stuff dude. (Take notes)
