About that article, you have to realize there is a major difference between hurt and injured. I bet there are tons of people who claim they are hurt by paintball, but hardly any injured. I think both of these are a large matter of opinion. For example, I don't think I have stayed out of any sort of sport due to an injury, but I can continue playing with a sprained whatever, and would consider myself hurt.To me, saying you are hurt means you are complaining, saying you are injured means you are unable to participate. It all depends on how much pain you can suck up.
I'd say if you can't get them to go to the field to watch, buy a tape of paintball. If they refuse to view it, continiously watch it every chance you can. Eventually they will look at it and hopefully realize it isn't so bad.
