I'm going to be entering a bunch of tournaments pretty soon and I'm also looking for a new high end gun. I really want an Emag but I'm not sure if it's a very good tournament gun. If you guys could enlighten me a bit I'd appreciate it. Oh, and if you have any recommendations for a different gun let me know.
Emag- Good tourney gun?

The Emag is a GREAT tournament gun. My 3-man team played a tourney (we all had Emags) and not one chop all day. I personally went through 7500 rounds in that tourney without a chop. Emags rock.

Great gun, never let you down even in a torrential downpour. Even if it does, that is what manual mode is for. Have used mine for almost a year now, at least one tournament a month. No problems what so ever.

I had a PTP Emag. Got LEVEL 10 in the thing and it went 30,000 balls without a chop...over 20,000 in tournies....amazing piece of work
I thne sold it and got a X-Mag. Dayum! Even sweeter. Havn't used it as much, but it still shoots like a dream. Amazing. Reliable, Fast (15bps in semi), Anti-Chopping, Sexy. Oh, yeh, if the electronics crap out...you turn to manual and off you go...

Otherwise, I love it. The only time I ever chopped a ball was with some terrible field paint (some PMI junk, it stuck to itself it was so bad).Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

You better be ready to get down with the sickness. E-mags are great tourney guns. Insanely fast and ultra reliable. If anyone tells you otherwise ask them why. I never get called for full auto or bouncing. I have adjusted those tendencies out of my gun. Neither my E-mag or X-mag bounce. Lvl 10 is PIMP. So soft on paint, yet no negative effects. The X-mag even has and ACE system, but I haven't used it yet since the Lvl 10 works so well. I have both my guns warped and people hate it. Wrap the bunker, play the snake, shoot left, shoot right. Doesn't matter, it is so sneaky its evil.Last edited by Blazingace; 07-09-2003, 11:46 AM.

But it's always a good idea to make sure that you fill your tank after every game. Usually the air is free or included in the entry fee so there really shouldnt be any reason why you can't go on the field with a full tank.Originally posted by afrankart
You're probably only gonna get like 7-800 shots off of a 3000. If you play front, that might be okay, if you don't mind refilling every or every other game.
I use a 4500 88cu tank and I make sure to fill it up after every game. It's gotten to the point where its a habit now.
The 4500 is not a necessary add on, 3000 will do you just fine. However, if your planning on playing in the back, especially during a 7-man event like IAO, you'll want to think hard about upgrading to the 4500.
E-mags are very good tourny guns. We, even before we became AGD Pride, were using E-mags at all of our tournys and we never had a problem keeping up with the Angels, Cockers, Timmys, Impulses, ect.
One reason I liked them as tourny guns if how adjustiable the trigger can be, especially if you get one of Timmy63's blade triggers.
Hope this helps!

As for the bounce, there's a couple of ways to get rid of it (I'm sure that there are more but these are the ones that I know of).
1. Never shoot the E-mag in Hybrid Mode (Electronics on, Selector switch in Manual)
2. Remove the trigger rod from the gun, making it electronic only.
3. Lower the input pressure that's going into the gun.
4. Lower the BPS.

Well, the hybrid thing sounds a bit hard to do...I'm a man that likes my options.
But what do you mean by "lowering my bps" I know you can lower it from the back but how low does it need to be before this bounce is gone?
BTW is there one mode that the bounce occurs in or is it every mode?

The bounce mainly occurs in Hybrid mode, however there have been reports that it's been happening in E-mode as well (I havent experienced this but some players from AGD Lions have out at the NPPL Las Vegas event).
Lowering the BPS is only one option out of a few that are available. It's not the recommended approach to this but it does the trick.
How low you'll have to go will depend on your gun, how you have the lvl 10 setup (I highly recommend getting this), ect.
