Yep...USPS all the way. UPS around here screws up more than it delivers and FedEx is non-existent.

ignatz- USPS insurance isnt high at all, i just insured 200 dollars worth of stuff for a little over 1 dollar, and tracking is like another dollar. I find their tracking to work quite well myself, but not as well as UPS tracking. I also shipped out a gun priority, with tracking, and insured for 500 dollars. My total was like 12 bucks, which i dont think is bad for 2-3 day shipping guarenteed.

most i ever payed for shipping was around 25 that was for my emag to halfway across the country overnight insured for $1000 and registered with confirmation of delivery which is like the most useful amount of stickers you can attach onto a box lol

EDIT:hey i just realized shipping is one of the few things where putting stickers on it makes it go faster!!!

I'd go with priority, it keeps it safe 99% of the time and it doesn't cost too much at all.

I ship grip frames (and sometimes multiple grip frames) for about $4 (or just over). That is why I started at that price. And everything I have shipped has come in under $20, which is why I used that number. I would love to see a marker that can ship right around $4 as well…. but that was not what I said. I was giving a price range, and you helped show I was correct.

(Added: Also my post was not meant to be gospel, but a rough idea off the top of my head. If he ends up paying $15, he still would have been given pretty accurate ballpark information. The fact that I thought it would be closer to $4 is irrelevant since it was a guess… again, off the top of my head. And I did not state any of it as fact. I think most people could see that I was only giving a guess. I know folks are eager to prove me wrong on SOMETHING but over a guess or an estimate? LOL You know I love you BlackVCG. )
              Okay.

Shartley ...very interesting link you gave earlier in this thread with the UPS scale of charges, totally proves what I thought was happening. I should explain I saw a link on one of the AO forums about some barrels being on "special" so went along and had a look...sure enough they were there so being a totally distrusting person regarding ordering online with Credit cards, I rang them and placed and order, all fine until we got to the shipping...two barrels @ 2 lbs will come to $79.99 needless to say I didn't continue. I could ship stuff from here to the US for about 1/4 that cost but to see the rates that anyone can use proves that certain websites are charging people for the privilage of shipping. I know that you get discounts in this country if you are a frequent shipper so the rate that was attempted to be extorted from me...aaah makes me mad

Oh I re-read some of the posts in this thread and something else that I noticed that people are saying that company A is better than company B well about 3 years ago I was in Canada for an extended holiday and went a little mad with the spending so I enquired about shipping the extra stuff home and after collecting the varying rates ranging from the Post Office to Fed EX I called the airline I was flying with and it was cheaper to pay excess baggage as long as the weight was under 30 kilo's for the one extra bag, that to me is real crazy as the extra bag would get home with me obviously at the same time as I would have but by the shipping companys it would have taken a week at least.
