I have 6 year old jt pants that I still wear :) I played more then a year of intense paintball and over the 6 years , I have minor rips in my right iknee,, they held up really well...
However I wish I could say the same for their present day products, I had a pair of their tourney pants and they ripped on me after only 3 1/2 months at the knee.... If i had money I would try ou the nexed pants or outlast pants!Taking a long needed leave of the sport to finish school and tour the country

I've got the Nexed pants...worn out twice to play pb but I have worn them about a dozen times to hang out with and to go watch NPPL and PSP events...I just can't get it out of my head that I'm not going to catch something and rip them...Comment

If you want to, go for it. It's go a lot to do with what makes you feel good. If cammos do it for you, then wear 'em. I've been wearing the Nexed in rec-ball with no complaints or problems. It's personal prefrence, really. I like to wear the "paintballin pants" for durability, and a little bit of style too.Originally posted by gamarada717
Question. Do you guys think it would be worth it to get a pair of actual paintball pants for someone who plays mainly rec ball? ...Should i just get knee pads? And if so, who?
"Chuff Chuff" :)
Knee pads aren't a bad idea either. Body Armor pads are hard to find, but the JT's aren't bad, and hte REDZ are good for under pants.
But, for the pants, Seriously, try on the pants if you can, and see if you like it. It may not help your performance, but if you feel good about your clothing, you'll play a little more confidently. It may help, it may not. I play better when I feel comfortable.
...says the guy who wears the ears and tail...

personally i don't enjoy rocks in the knee/shin, so far i've mainly played rec ball but seriously looking into some pants/knee pads. I figured the knee pads that would restrict my movement less would be ones that are built into the pants themselves. I mean you don't have anything wrapped around your knee/leg and they won't slide around all over the placeComment

Well as anyone at IAO can attest...the playing surface was some of the worst ever. Especially (Ironically enough) the black and yellow AGD field which had a bed of rocks in front of almost every primary. I didn't have ANY kneepads and went up to the Redz stand to get some knee pads. Now at first I wasnt impressed by the looks of knee pads (they had sold out of knee/shin pads) but they were cheap (20) so i grabbed them anyways. They have three velcro straps so that it adjusts to different sized people (not to mention they have S,M,L,XL) And a THICK padded knee. Well I wore them under my pants...and totally forgot I had them on. When I went sliding on my knees into my primary (about 7 feet of sliding) I didnt feel anything...heh it was like i was on ice. Long story short, I highly recommend these, or AT LEAST some sort of knee protection for ANY paintballer. Its way too easy to mess up your knees now adays so you need to protect them while they are good.
