It sucks getting falsely accused for wiping

First of all, I wanna explain that today was my first time ballin again in a good 4 months... and it felt AWESOME!! The whole day was 99% amazing, except for this one little part at the end:

We were playing walk-on hyperball, with maybe 10 to 12 person teams. I was in a back side stand up bunker, covering the tape, which included a snake and a stubby, and about 3 shooters. There was one ref covering those 3 players at the other end, and one ref on my side covering a few people spread out over the width of the field.
Fairly soon into the game the far ref calls for ME to check for paint. So I glance real quick, don 't see anything, turn around and get the ref behind me over to check, and he also finds nothing, so I play on. This happens at least 2 or 3 more times before finally the ref behind me comes and plants himself RIGHT next to me, so he can see every move I make. EVEN THEN the far ref keeps having me do checks, and by now several of the players are yelling. I am fairly confident each time I haven't been hit, I turn towards the ref, quickly turn my gun over and everything, and he clears me every time. Towards the end of the game I get gogged, call myself out, and sit at the back of the field watching the game finish up.
So as soon as the game's over, the ref from the far side comes over all in a fluster saying he "clearly saw" me get hit, and when I came out from behind the bunker again I was clean and shooting (assuming/implying I was wiping). The ref that was right next to me kept trying to defend me, but the ref from the far side just wouldn't have it!!

This post was basically for me to vent, but I would also like to know from anybody, ref's too... why was this kid so hellbent on trying to convince me I was wiping? It kinda spoiled the feeling of the day, cuz it was my last game... also could I have done anything different WHILE playing to make it obvious to far side doofus-ref that I wasn't cheating?

Thanks for the input, I really do not want a reputation of cheating, ESPECIALLY when I HAVEN'T been wiping.

similar thing happened to me this weekend. I was playing the tape and a aguy on the opposite team was two bunkers ahead of me. We were both throwing lots of paint and he was yelling that he hit me and I was whiping. The ref checked me over and told me I was fine. The other guy wouldn't stop cussing at me so the ref pulled him.

i had a player accuse me of shooting him on purpose when he was out, and he tried to pull a power trip saying how he come to the field everyweekend, knows all the rules, and the owner... i quickly shut him up on the fact that i work at the field and have been there everyweekend since the field opened and have only seen him once before, im a ref and made alot of the rules, and obviously i am friends with the owner. all the other refs know i play clean and have only had one incident where it was a pod hit when it was down to one on one, it wasnt till after the game i realized i was hit. i went over to the other guy, told him he won and apologized.

I wouldn't worry about it or take it personally. Just keep playing your game. If you had a ref planted on you and he wasn't pulling you for it then you're all good.

It happens to me all the times in tournies when the ref all the way across the field sees a "hit" and the other ref that is on top of me cant find it. Just let it go and keep playing your game. Cause if they r accusing of wiping they r probably newbs/TWiBs and who cares what they think.

a not so fun wiping incident happened to me about a month ago. i was playing my first tourney it was a "rookie" 3-man. however, most of the teams obviously sponsored and had been playign tournament ball. my other two teamates were sps16 and steeratt. our second game of the day, starts off badly. they get a guy to the 50, which is an awesome spot to be. the guy pulls the flag, but i got him out by putting about 20 paintballs on a 2 inch opening. once they lose their front man, the rest of the game is easy. so i pull the flag, and run and hang. i check myself, and chris(sps16) checks me, before i hang the flag. were very careful, because we knew any hits would mean we wouldnt get the points. we see NOTHING. so i hang the flg, and the refs come over to check me. they immediatly take interest in my 12 volt revvy. i have a little green paint in the cracks around the writing on the hopper. this was left over from the game before. when they mention this, the team we beat immediately comes over and accuses me of wiping. after a rather, um, heated argument, in which i argued that none of their players were shooting greek paint, and i had no other green paint on my sleeves, pants, or hands. it really wounldnt have been a big deal, except the other team insisted i had been wiping. finally, the ref declared us the winners. the end of the story is good, but this argument put a damper on our only victory of the day.

this is exactly why paintball will only ever be a hobby. It will never make it to TV... WAAaaaay to many hot heads, know it alls, and the average players language... oh yeah, and the whole wiping issue

All I can say is it does happen. I sometimes get accused of cheating by players or refs which gets under my skin because I play about as honest as a person can. Where I play they do a lot of weird rules about what hits count (below the knees sometimes dont, guns sometimes don't, etc) but I always take all hits that score on me, just because I think that's how I want to play. Anytime I feel an impact I have someone else check me if possible and I play until they tell me I'm out. I get a ref whenever I can and I'm very conscience about being a cheater.

But sometimes people think they saw something and get all bent ouyt of shape. It sucks but it happens.
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

Ohhh I must've been out 4 or 5 times in two days because of that. Once there was a time where I was the last one in a quickly advancing line (in the woods) and I had to run back to a more populated location. But it involved sprinting and getting shot at by really fast shooters, but it was so clear I wasnt hit as I slid behind a ridge. However, it was unavoidable for at least 1 of them to scream paintcheck on me, and some really really really STUPID ref (and I mean stupid) comes and checks me, and im already worried. He points at my back after obvious confusion on his part and says "O...ou, out!! player is eliminated!". I asked him "Really? How'd I get hiT" in the most non arguative manner I could make, and he said "Oh there is a shell on your back". I say nothing and head back to the dead box and am checked over by like 10 guys. There was NOTHING. I wasnt hit on my back all day long, and if there WAS a shell, it must have been just a shell fragment that flew from splatter because there was absolutly no paint and it fell off (assuming, it was actually there)

I can understand your ankst over being accused. But instead of getting upset over it, just refer the ref who accused you to the ref who could actually see you! Maybe the other ref just didn't like the way you looked? The problem with many younger refs is that their impartiality is sometimes skewed.

I had a ref try to call me out for paint on my boots (I was standing behind a bunker on ground that was covered so heavily in paint and shells that you could not tell what color the playing surface was! I guess he was tired of me wasting many of his friends who were out playing that game. Another ref looked at him like he was crazy and told me play on
