Best (and lightest) adjustable Air System???

    AO:

I'm ready after several years to dump my beloved AA Armageddons in favor of a lighter, (still adjustable) air system. The combination of the rail, chunky/blocky reg, and the stainless steel "Arm" (the part that is attached to the bottle and screws into the reg) all adds up to a hugely bloated system. It is built rock solid - but just plain weighs enough anymore that it is a pain. Since I exclusively play with 68ci bottles anymore, I don't really need the "screw off the reg bottle feature" anymore.

Anyhow, onto the question at hand, I'm turning to everyone for advice on where to go next. Please feel free to offer comments on any adjustable systems, but keep in mind I'm looking for consistency, weight, and availability of parts.

Here's may thinking on the systems I know about and none jump out at me:

4500 Flatline - can't get them from what I hear...
MaxFlo - got one, like the newest style but am boycotting SP due to suit... Unproven (newest one)
MacDev - VERY touchy about dirt - can require a lot of service.
AA Alum Apoc - kinda ready to try someone new... Also still looks heavy.
Angel Air - heavy , inconsistent...
Centerflag - put off by looks...

As you can see I'm having issues with just about all of the options - can any offer any others - or persuade me on any of the ones listed?

    Thanks,

    -Calvin

If you already got one, SP already has your $...by not using it, you just wasted $350, and gave it to SP

dont forget the worr gas and high price clone by dye. i play with a bunch of guys that have worr gas tanks...the adjustable ones. they are small and light...the regs are smaller than a flatline. however, ive heard of problems that have supposedly been fixed. the guys i know had probs in the beginning, but claim they are all good now.

Cledford is this for your new viking?(heard you got it on pbnation )anyways if you get a good preset for it that should work just as good for $100 dollars less.

Cledford: I suggest taking a look at the NitroDuck XStream.

It is very light, screw-in, AND ADJUSTABLE!!!

If Flatlines really are your thing though, (shameless plug) I'm selling one currently.

I'd go with the Xstream though.

I use the Xstream and I have had no problems whatsoever with it. I am actually gonna pick up another on in 45/45 when my xmag finally comes.

the CenterFlag DynaFlow (or HyperFlow) is a GREAT tank. I have one and will be getting another at the beginning of the summer. Light weight, compact and it has the best on-off of ANY tank i've ever seen. Durable as all hell with a lifetime warranty.

i am going to second the dynaflow. I just got one last week, and although i haven't used it much yet, it and my CP rail drop is lighter than my screw in with the drop I previously had. You couldn't ask for a better on/off or customer service. My .02

I third the dynaflow. I have one and its great. Incredible on/off...It bleeds the whole line of the tank. Great feature, exclusive feature.

I know you said adjustable, but I honestly think a 68/45 LP Crossfire is good for anyone
