blackcell and deadcell had to play event 2 of the gpl in a torentious down pour. we sealed the grip panels for a little extra security and all the emags worked fine. now we did have one warp feed go down because of water getting to the boards.anyone else have this happen to a warp?Comment

Haha! This is the type of BS that people pass on to newbs, that starts bad gun rumors. I'd be willing to bet my left nut, that no gun would work after sitting in water for 4 days.Originally posted by Brett23

Anyway- I've used my Eblade in some pretty wet situations as WC keep explained. I wouldn't think an eblade is any worse than any other electro in the rain. In fact when my front end takes a hit, I spray it with water. The manifold is pretty water tight. This was a suggestion right from the Eclipse booth.
No matter what though, if you won that game in the rain, I'd base it more on your skills, and ability to tough it out. Sure they may have had gun trouble, but you were all in the rain. You all had to deal with the imperfect setting.WE ARE DEADCELL, AND WE WILL RUN THROUGH YOU

The one thing people don't seem to understand that you can soak electronics in water for quite a while and all is good as long as you dry them off before turning it on.Originally posted by JEDI

Though I have never had a problem with my emag and rain(and I have played in pretty bad rains with with it). I do know a guy who's emag quit working in a pretty light right. After drying it off and letting it sit over night, the gun started working great.
Water is evil for electonics, but if dried before using, it ususally causes no problems....hell I got a free laptop once froma guy who spilt coffee on it. I took it into the bathroom at work a few days later, filled the sink with water and dunked it. After a few days of drying out, it worked as good as new.

Ok, so tell me this. I'm sure you're right to an extent. But, how do you thoroughly dry out two completely enclosed solenoids? I find it hard to believe that anyone was able to purge every drop of water out of a gun that was in water for 4 days. Not every part of an Eblade can be serviced or taken apart by the average owner. Not to mention, that you can't just cycle oil through an Eblade.
I didnt say you couldn't take the gun down to every single part and peice right down to the circuts and resistors, dry it off after a few days, relube every part of the gun seperately and apart from the gun, and then turn it back on.
I just find it highly unlikely.

For those of us who are not as good as others... rain is like adding a couple players
Paintballs do not shoot straight in rain, the moisture causes them to swell (did this day) so those who do not resize there barrels suddenly begin experiencing barrel breaks (luckily I realized this and instructed my team to change to .692 barrels before finals). All this inconsistencies take away an important factor in paintball - SKILL. This allows those of us without skill to compete by willpower. :). Wish the rain hadn't quit as suddenly as it started, might have placed better.
All in all I did have a great time though, and the hooded sweatshirt I won was dry for the ride home."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Its not" - Dr SuessComment

My angel shot like normal in a down poor of rain at the field one day. So did the xmag, trixs, imps, and other many electros. But one of my friends day used his ebladed evo during a tourney the first day he got it and it started to rain and he ended up having to get a new board.
