Behold... the Redz Stock Class Pack!

Not sure where to post this, so I guess I'll put it here.

I've been pondering for weeks on how to carry 10-round tubes onto the field. I've mostly just carried them in the pockets of my shorts, but that was a little loud and the swung around a lot when I ran. I wasn't looking forward to coughing up 30 more dollars for some rickety stock class contraption.

So while goofing around looking at the JT site, I realized something... the Redz belt (which ironically I have never worn in a game -- it's still in mint condition) has velcro all over it. Stock class tubes... not too heavy. Even with paint... So I ran off and grabbed some adhesive velcro stickers and started sticking them onto 10-round tubes.

I can fit 8 tubes on the hook velcro on the back of the pack, and then the front has the loop velcro all over, so I figure I can put 2-4 more on the front as well while maintaining reasonable comfort.

Don't ask me about 12g's, I don't use 'em. I'd probably make some sort of elastic carrier pocket to stick on the front for 12g's if I were into that sort of thing.

I'll give this a try this weekend to see if it holds up.

that's sweet, but the problem I see with that is that sticky velcro doesn't STICK to things after a while, I recomend using a couple zip ties and nail it down, that should last ALOT longer... I like the idea!!

I would advise actually making a pack for the tubes that also has Velcro on it and stick THAT to the Redz belt. I think it will not only look better, but take care of the self adhesive Velcro issues Heat talked about.

Ronin's Elite Stock Class Harness is the best, and ii sells them cheap on ebay.

Years ago, we used to use, elastic shotgun shell belts. they fit the tubes and CO2 perfectly.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I have a shotgun shell belt, its nowhere near as good as my Ronin pack.

That's a cool use for a Redz belt. I was going to suggest a pouch, but Shartley beat me to it.

A lot of the guys in my club use Redz gear for when we play with pumps or semis, and I bet they'd like to use the same big comfy belt for stock, too.

The Cops911 stuff is impressive, and the Ronin gear harness is nice, too. But I can't see the need to carry 200+ rds for stock play! Maybe it's because I don't play stock in big games...

Eliminates the need for those stupid green caps. Add a small pouch for empty tubes and you're all set. Now if I can just get doc to email me back so I can actually buy one.

Ah, excellent. I was just thinking about this last night before I put everything away and went to bed. I'll give it a try. I wonder if I could get away with just rubber bands as well...

Shartley: Yeah, originally I pondered the pouch thing, but this was sort of an extreme shortcut that I thought I'd try. I'm thinking my only difficulty will really be with times I wind up rubbing up against something or crawling against the ground/etc, in which case the pouch will obviously guard against that. As far as looking better... I prefer to look less polished when I go out and play

Everyone else: Yep, I have seen all the other options. For some reason, they all don't look that secure to me. For instance, doesn't that Ronin one kind of flop around on your butt? The wrist strap one I wouldn't wear on my wrist, but it would be interesting to put that onto the tank of your gun, say if you're running a 7oz or something. And most of the stuff on Cops911 also looks like a ... flopping hazard. The designs are inventive, yet... somehow wouldn't suit me. Plus the whole money thing; I'm stingy, what can I say. The shotgun shell belt and Doc's harness are very close to something I'd like.

Does anyone have a link for the TASO harness? I can't seem to find any pics of it.

The Ronin one looks like it should flop around, but its very tight and sturdy. It says put and is overall a great pack.

Load up once in the morning, and you are set for the day. Thats the other benefit. Plus it holds a straight shot, a pull-thru, and your keys.
