    cocker people?? a few ?s

    2 Really.

My friend bought a cocker recently, he said it was a 2k3 but we know its not b/c of lack of milling, but we are lost on the exact year. Its black, CF, 1x frame, thats pretty much all we know.

And 2nd question, what should he upgrade 1st. He's got HPA, and we know he needs a new barrel, but after that what should be the #1 thing to upgrade??

If its mate black its probably a 2k1. If it has a slider trigger frame that's the first thing i would change.
A swing or hinge (same thing) frame is easier to shoot and time, and harder to shortstroke.

    Hope this helps.

ya i would have to agree with redlaser666 i love my hinge trigger. Wow what a question there is so much that can be done to a cocker it all depends on how much $$$$$$$
your willing to put into it.

Since its vert feed its proboly newer than 2k ... vert feeds were pretty rare prior to that.

As to what to upgrade next it all depends on what year exactly the gun is. Ist thing I would check for is the timing rid treaded or not. If not get a threaded one. Beyond that find out how he would like the gun to perform better and then make mods baised on that. If you re looking for a bit ore specific advice let us know and I am sure someone will pp up.

How do I tell if its a hinge frame??

So a threaded timing rod should be one of the 1st upgrades??

I would say start upgrading the pnumatics (sp?) on the front block, then possibly the reg. I have a buddy with a 2k2 with a single finger slide trigger and he is about the fastest non-electro cocker shooter Ive ever seen. So the hinge isnt really a must to upgrade IMO.

If it doesn't have milling its a 2K1. Upgrades should be first a barrel, then a delron bolt, then a hinge trigger, and finally an adjustable front reg. I wouldn't recomend touching the front block unless you know alot about cockers.

                  swing trigger... pfff!

i love my friends slide trigger more than i do my brothers swing trigger, just because it seems harder to short stroke the slide

id get a reg, and then a bolt. if you chop, get an anti-chop bolt [duh].

if you dont want a bolt, get a new 3-way and then you could probably shoot even faster. then again, a whole new front block is nice too...

If it is vert feed more than likely it is 2k or +.

Check the body, are there pump arm slots on BOTH sides? Although not perfect is the backblock roughly triangular or squarish?

Oh well, come on and float down to www.air-powered.com, its a cocker owners group I happen to moderate, so I just MIGHT be biased.

                        upgrades?

barrel or barrel kit, a good paint fit is a must in closed bolt guns.

externally adjustable inline regulator. This will make tuning much easier. (email me for an ergo reg at a great price).

spring kit..... this will make the force needed to recock the gun less and let you turn the LPR down. The result is less "kick" when the gun recocks, and less chance for a chop.

As for trigger? you need to see if you like the feel of a hinge or slider. I prefer slider, and can shoot them faster in game situatiions than electros (notice i said in game situations). You can find some great slider parts on ebay, and you can find some good hinges as well. IMO the best hinge trigger is Chipley's, VERY nice and fast.

High pressure air isnt a must, cockers were made well before air was used, so co2 will work fine. But air will be a good upgrade down the road.

A picture would help us big time in identifying year, but its not really important what year it is.... I have some really old ones that run just as good, if not better than new ones.

feel free to email me if you have any questions. I use cockers for my tourney guns, non electro cockers even. If time is takes, and some thougt is put into the gun, it will provide years of service, and will let you get plenty of eliminations.

Cant get a pic, but for whoever asked, it does have the cocking arm slots on both sides, the back block does have a triangular shape, and Im pretty sure its a threaded rod

We took it out in my backyard tonight and shot on it, even with the 1x frame, we were shootin it faster than his lil bros spyder image in full auto. it was soo sweet. When I get my mag back up and running, if it doesnt have a trigger like this Im sellin it and gettin a cocker. It was so awesome.

hinge frame is a good up for your cocker, then a nice trigger would make it even better. if you like the slider frame slap a roller sear in it for a kickass pull
