Mmm, if it's an old, VL200 or something, use a 10 ounce hammer.
If it's something electronic, use a 2 lb. sledge.
Honestly, why did you put your hand in it? I just close the lid on mine (VL200), invert it, fill it with water, since it doesn't leak much, then drain. Repea twice=clean, wet hopper. Let air dry.
