Already been said but I use the barrel bore that suits the paint I have. To use a oversized bore barrel does have its merits but the consistency will go out of the window. Agreed that paint does "seem" to be more uniform now but what worked last week won't always be the same next, look at the two post above this they can't agree. I used to use a 'mag and I had my "small" barrel and my "large" barrel but then I also used a J&J straight rifled brass barrel to great effect and I haven't a clue what the bore size was on that barrel.

Yeah..I've got .688 UL and I just picked up a Stiffi at .687 and I think it's too similar to my UL but the Stiffi people told me that they have been seeing people asking for smaller bores...that's why I'm a little lost as to what I should do (they said they would let me exchange it for a different bore if I wanted to)..

Not quite..with the fact that the Stiffi is so much lighter than the UL it's worth it to use one..

I use my .691 for just about everything. I get excellent consistency. Most of the time I shoot Blaze, Chronic or Tork.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

My primary barrels are a .690 Armson SSR, a .687 Armson SSR and a Freak with the .695.

I'd like a smaller SSR for the stupid-small paint that occationally shows up. Then again, I'd like a .695 SSR (Or any Armson) so I could get rid of the freak.

                      If I could have an ideal world, I'd have a .685, a .690 and a .695. That'd cover everything well.

Paint is very varied around here. I regularily use about 4 brands, and about 2 subtypes in each of those.

My real question as it stands right now is that I've got a .688 Dye UL for my X-mag and I jsut picked up a .687 Stiffi barrel...I knew the stiffi would be a little small but I'm trying to decide if I should swap the Stiffi for a .689 which is the average barrel bore size or go for something larger like .691 so that I have an average and a large bore barrel...the only problem is that I'm afraid I'll like the stiffi more and want that in a .689 instead of the UL..
