    ACE First Look!!!

    My Team,

Here is a sneak preview of where we are at with the ACE system. This is very close to what it will look like except with pro PC boards (we made these ourselves).

    AGD

Interface to the power supply in top of grip frame. The black thing sticking up from the PC board is the eye. The blue pot is the sensitivity adjustment.

Here is is shown mounted in position. You adjust the sensitivity with the module removed. You can see the acess hole in the side. The hole is under the module when in use so absoulutely nothing shows on the outside. We will probabluy have to laser engrave "ACE" on the body so people will know!

You can see the eye (black dot) looking up from under the breach. There will be a fitting with a lens to cover the eye in actual use so no paint ccan get into the electronics.

What kind of sensor is it?

Is it a photoresistor type thing... or something else?

It looks cool, and I think its a great component that should be on all markers. The ACE was the main reason I ever considered getting an impulse. Now I know I'll just have to save and get one of those!!

Hmmm...I have an idea. Now bear with me, as this needs a bit of explaining.

Tom, have you considered a slightly different approach to the whole ACE thing? After looking at your pics here, something hit me. I think your current design is awesome, that's how I like to tink I would have done it. I don't want you to think I'm criticizing, this is just a suggestion. I think it is a good idea...in theory. Let it be known that I do not (yet) own an E-Mag, so I have no practical experience with its function.

Could you not just put a very soft push button switch where the ACE is now. It's a whole lot less wiring. Simply wire the swtich into the firing circuit. No ball in the breech, the circuit is open and the gun doesn't fire, even if the trigger is pulled. You wouldn't have the problem with differnt color shells and contrast and what not as a switch isn't dependant on light.

Like I said, the switch would have to be pretty "soft" as paintballs don't weigh all that much. But basically, when a ball is fed into the chamber, the button-switch is depressed, closing the circuit. Then when the trigger is pulled, it completely closes the circuit, causing the gun to fire. In essence, you will have two openings in the circuit that have to be closed before the gun will fire. The AC swich in the breech and the trigger.

Just a thought. I would hate to delay the release of the whole ACE thing.

                Thanks for listening...

All I can say is sweet
when they become availible I am going to send my baby in for the conversion
Now heres a question for you Tom:
will raw extreme bodys be availible for people who want to mill there own? Also I know I am probably opening a can of worms, but do you have the basic dimensions in a cad file to start playing around ? would puppy dog eyes help?

It looks pretty clean to me, very typical of AGD design and work. My only concern is the wire channel in the grip frame is looking pretty full. I hope that I can get one more wire in there to power my warp/revy.

                    Great job AGD

It is a good thing I am stationed here right now, otherwise I would have spent a bunch of $$$ chasing all of the AGD innovations this year. By the time I get back it is Extreme/ACE for me!

Will the round battery be a original option or is it an add-on accessory?

In my experience the photoelectric eyes are very durable/reliable circuits. We have used them in a desert and humid enviroments without fail. I think a mechanical/weight triggered sensor might be an issue while shooting on the run (bouncing ball).

That's funny while I was in the ROK I didn't save any money I haven't seen anything about the changing of the battery design, the ones AGD-Europe and well as the SFL's Shocktech sold all had the original style battery.

easy duck hunter- you have to see me to shoot me, either visually or electronically. HIMAD or SHORAD? Check out our brigade webpage at http://www.korea.army.mil/eusa/6cav/...rse/index.html , all the PATRIOTs in theater are in my brigade. SHORAD guys party much better though I posted this under another thread but where in GA are you? I will be building in Milledgeville in July when I ETS. Gotta Hook up.
