Sorry to hear about your trouble. Theifs can be pretty stupid - for example last year when we got hit, they left the paintball and the real guns; rifled through my jewelry and left my grandmother's bigass platinum and diamond ring but took the cheap lesser stuff (down to plastic?!), and took a $69 DVD player while leaving the nice Marantz surround sound audio equipment. Go figure.

As far as valuing your stuff, maybe you can find a shop to give you a written estimate on their letterhead kinda like you would do for a car repair - even if they can't duplicate your exact gear.

that really sucks. I will keep an eye out for them at the Mardi Gras Open, I have a friend who is a state trooper so if your guns show up over there, it should be interesting.

to help with your questions about insurance .. (even though i'm in canada, the insurance laws are on par) yes, you have every right to value the missing cockers at their brand new replacement costs.

If it costs you 1 million dollars to go out and splash and custom carve a cocker to make it exactly like the one missing, then that is what it costs

I WOULD include pricing from the guy or company who did the original work, so call him and get prices on the replacement costs to buy the cockers, and get the exact same milling and splash work done.

Insurance agents love quotes ... if you can get quotes from the original company who did the work, then you should be covered, no matter what the final price tag is

I'm sorry for all of that, man. I really hoope that the situtation gets resolved quickly. Well, at least they didn't take any of the acutal firearms. That could have really caused you some trouble down the road if it was used in the commission of a crime.
Just hang tight and do your best and get the whole thing takem care of.

Hey, if you are revaluing it, get Palmer's to do a quote on the anodizing. They charge in the neighborhood of 800 bucks for the kind of ano you had
