I can honestly say I would drop everyone in my life, aside from my immediate family, for this "game". May not be right, but it's damn true.

Yes, paintball is just a game. And a hobby, a sport, competition, livelihood, a test of ones-self, and above all, fun.

It's what you make of it.

Hopefully you will put down your camera and pick up your marker and join us on the field for the next shattnerball.

I play for the fun and to meet other people. Plus it gives me an excuse to drive long distances and spend large amounts of money with only welts and stories to show for it. :)

To me, like said above, its about making new friends, enjoying time with old ones. I travel over 300 miles to visit an old friend who got me into paintball, and to play paintball with friends and new ones i made at the fields. Thats what the sport is about, friends. Whether making new ones or having fun with old ones, to me, it boils down to friendship. And nothing should ever come between that. Especially some damned Trophy.

I think the beauty of paintball is that it is what you make it. I know people with Talons that play twice in their life and have a blast. I also know other people (myself included) that dump all their money into the game and play as much as they can and have a blast. However, sometimes people get too caught up in the competition and it becomes more than a game and it is no longer fun. The day that happens to me is the day I stop playing. (I hope it never happens )

Paintball was always just a game I played about every other week until I started playing on the team that I am playing on now. Granted, nothing comes before graduating and getting my education, nor my family and VERY close loved ones.

But the thing is that paintball isn't more than a game now because of the sport. I LOVE the sport with a passion but it still is a game of contest. Just like all other sports, the game is fun and should be taken seriously but with a little lightheartedness. Paintball is more than a game now because of the teammates I have. After my dad, my mom, my grandparents, and a few other family members, there isn't anything I wouldn't do for these guys. We have formed a bond that goes beyond the game we're playing...

That's the beauty of playing competitively. As long as you can still have fun while being aggresive about the game, eventually you will find that group of guys to play with that come before almost anything. I know my boys have given up unsupportive girlfriends, friends, other committments, why? Not because they get to go to tourneys this season, but because of what we are all about and what we are doing... we truly are a TEAM. I think that is where this great sport of competitive paintball has lost some of its grace, some people out there have forgotten what a team really is.

I've never met anyone who said that they play paintball because it is NOT FUN.
In short, the fun of the game is the big motivator behind most people playing it.
As long as it's fun, I'll play.
When it stops being fun, I'll stop. I have before.

Folks that mistake paintball for anything other than an organized game between agreeable participants, for the purpose of having a good time and meeting new folks, have their priorities misaligned.
Most of these people, unfortunately, are still too young to figure that out yet.

i have missed countless bday partys to go to practice or tournys. I have spent tons and tons of money on it and do what ever i have to to get to practice. Paintball is more then just a "game" to me its a life style, all i do is talk about paintball and play paintball, don't have too many friends out side of paintball but thats ok because i love paintball

My wife used to complain that I played every Sunday - I did anyways.
                        Now I have no wife.
Moral: Now I can play paintball on Saturday and Sunday and afford to do it

I'm not sure it's just a game to me anymore. However, the day paintball stops being fun for me is the day I hang up my gear and either sell it and retire from pball or take a year or so break from it. But, with that said, paintball is a big PART of my life, but it is not my life itself, it is not what I live for.

HOWEVER, Paintball is one things in my life that I've very passionate about. But in no way do I let it interfere with those parts of my life which are more important.

But, I do need the shirt that says: "Jesus Christ is live. The rest is just paintball"

I live the sport of paintball cause it's fun. It is just a game and winning is nice but not everything. SOme people are afraid to lose as they see it as failure. It just means you were out played. Anyways to wrap it up. Without the fun, I wouldn't be playing paintball. I do enjoy the sport and wouldn't mind doing a tourny or two but once it starts becoming unfun means your taking the GAME to seriously.

Hrm...for me, anything I do becomes a part of me. I always try to push myself to be good at what I do, be it work, sports, hobbies, a good friend, a good son, brother, friend, or companion. Anything and everything I do becomes a part of my life. Some fades away, some stays forever, but either or, I live what I'm passionate about.

Paintball is no different. Just because I have a passion for paintball right now doesn't mean it takes away from me being good at other areas in my life. There has to be a balance with everything.

Knowing your priorities and having values in your life is very important. But that doesn't mean sacrificing the quality and effort with the other things in your life.

For me, paintball allows me to live life. It allows me to meet new people, play against/with them, make new friends, and creates fond memories. It also allows me to go out whereas others like to stay indoors. Whether that's driving a few miles out to play, or fly to another state. The sport of paintball gives me something fun to do, be part of a community, and definitely gives me something to look forward to.

At this point in my life, paintball is a way of life for me. But it's not the only one that governs who I am.
