1v1 ball... the best way to go bigtime?

Been thinking about this a little lately. And I really think 1v1 would be the best way to get paintball big and on TV. If you go X-games format, it would fit in perfectly.

Think about it, large prizes per man, big name players... easier to ref. Fields that are easier to throw up because they are smaller. People will be able to just go and root for one guy. More entrants, quicker games. Ect... I think it'd be easier to get people to do it, because it's not such a large production.

I think it'd sell... your thoughts?

yep sure thing, I'd definitely like to see more of this. Make it limited paint too, like just hopper ball. It would truly bring out he skill of the players and make for more interesting games. Maybe some sort of elimination format where the winner advances and keeps going on what he has and a new player comes in to replace the eliminated one. Like king of the hill format.

No, it would just be a game of each player snapshooting and not moving, except maybe when they had to refill pods but besides that. Nothing

If it was limited to hopper ball they'd be forced to move on each other and not just snap shoot.

I think paintball will get a big name on tv for being a team sport. It really is a team sport and it's much better when played and watched that way. 1v1 pro games would make it more like golf in the sense that you're all alone and there's no teamwork going on. Just about all of the popular sports on tv these days are team sports, i.e. ice hockey, football, baseball, basketball.

                    woogie is perfectly right.

I dotn think many companies woudl sponser it, they sell paint. 1ON1 you wotn sell as much paint as a 10 man team will, even as much as a 3 man. Companies probably wouldn't go for it.

Crowds like action, there's ton more action, and bunkering, in larger teams(5on5, 7on7)

1 on 1 are a nice additive to a already running tourny. like a sideshow almost.

2on2s would be nice as well. or I at least thinkt it would.

2 on 2's would be just as boring. Even 3 man is pretty boring. If all the rookie tournies around here weren't 3man I definitely wouldn't play it, I find it pretty boring. I think xball is where it is at, and can't wait to see some more xball action on tv.

3 mans are not boring. they are on HUGE field, but if on a proper field they are fine.

I will admit, it is not as fun as x-ball is to watching, but i did not know that was the point.
