He continued playing rec after the incident had happened.

As for the ref telling them to shoot him, thats completely false.

The ref told him, " If you do not get off the field, then they will shoot you".
He did not tell the team to shoot the player... it was merely a warning and did not constitute the situation that followed.

Hey Jedi and Nite Hawk.....

In all the years that I have been playing PB and having met countless players, I have always considered the two of you to be some of the most honorable and respectable gentleman that I have ever ran into. Knowing both of you has always been both a priviledge and a pleasure.

The content of your discord can be argued back and forth without end and neither position will lose any merit regardless of how many other exchanges are made.

Knowing the two of you well, I'm confident that under different circumstances, you would feel the same way towards each other as I do towards the both of you.

This much I know. A day that was intended to be a day of fun and comraderie has been turned into a day that some of us would rather forget. I for one not only took a financial hit but also:

1. A hit on my relationship with Knightbreed. I decided to take the event there after having spent some time with Shawn chatting the week before (NPPL Biz) and he showed me in no uncertain terms that he is one of the nicest guys I've ever met in the local paintball community. It is now my understanding that after this event, the Knightbreed owners/staff felt that I took financial advantage of them because they believed that we had over 100 PRE-PAID attendees and only 60 or so showed up. NO ONE PRE PAID. THOSE 100 OR SO PEOPLE "PRE REGISTERED" and as such no money was withheld....but the damage has been done.

2. I'm taking a hit on my reputation with all the ugliness going around not only on this forum but also on Ogre's team site and teamblackcell.com. On this matter, I once again wholeheartedly apologize for your unnecessary involvement. And this apology goes to all you AOer's in general and to TK in particular.

3. Lastly, I'm taking a personal hit in losing some of the nicest 'ballers that I've ever met, Black Cell (everyone in the team included). In this business, people come and go and it truly saddens me because it IS a part of this business. There is ALWAYS a personal bond that develops between myself and the players that have played under the PBX banner. Regardless of the circumstance, this sense of loss will never cease.

My personal dilemma is this... I have made a conscious decision to make a living out of something that I'm truly passionate about and love. Sometimes things don't always end up the way we would all like it to and that's unfortunate. What we must all accept is that we have all been brought together by the LOVE FOR THE GAME..... and I hope that no one here will lose that 'feeling' over the incidents that have transpired.

The incident that happened between Lee (nitehawk) and myself is between Lee & myself. I appreciate the people that support my side of the argument and I assume Lee appreciates the people that support him. However, the incident is between Lee and I.

To Lee,
I wish the whole thing never happened. I love paintball and I don't condone fighting on the field, and I'm glad that didn't happen. I never think we'll come to a complete agreement of what actually happened, so perhaps the best thing to do would be to forgive and forget. Its a paintball field and i guess we both got shot. If you would like to discuss this further as adults, send me a PM and we can exchange contact info. If not, lets just consider the whole thing to be forgotten about.

I was told that I was thrown from playing the tourney not from the field. I may be mistaken, but I though FrehBob said as much to me as I left the field.

Either way, I had every intention of leaving, as I didn't feel up to playing. AGDJon specifically asked me to stay and play a few games of rec with him, since I hadn't played with him since the Last AO, and I speifically came out becuase he asked me about it at IAO, I felt I should. ALthough I wasn't wearing a watch, I am pretty sure it was over an hour later that I stepped on the rec field for the first of 2 games that I played..

As for the rest, I'm just not adressing it.. if people would actually read what I said, most of this would stop..

This is probably the most intelligent thing said in this entire discourse.

I agree with Jeremey on this.. as I said, since it is between us, perhaps all the other people choosing sides based on a previous history with the person instead of any firsthand knowledge should step back, and let it go.

Jeremy - I think that you are correct, there will never be an agreement between us as to what happened, and that is fine with me. opefully we both have learned sometihng from this entire situation.

Consider this my final post on the subject unless something is specifically directed towards me.

I created this thread so people can share the good memories, not the bad. The PBX/Deadcell issue and the Nitehawk issue are killing this thread. WHY ARE YOU TURNING IT INTO A FLAMEFEST.

He was asked to leave by Deadcell guys, I believe Jon and Blackcell told him he could stay and continue to play rec ball.

You got shot 3 times in the back of the head.

But NITEHAWK got shot in the temple. You obviously dont understand how fragile the temple is. You could very easily die from being shot in the temple by a paintball.


Deadcell and nitehawk were both wrong.


Deadcell should have consulted the other teams about reffing there own team, and he should not have told his team to keep shooting nitehawk.

He was clearly out, when he got shot, he fell backwards, put his gun up, and hisother hand on his head. I could tell he was in serious pain.


Concussions arnt fun, they can cause serious brain damage.

The thing is, nitehawk admitted what he did was wrong. Did deadcell? NO.

Lets drop the whole issue, lawyers arnt needed. Everyone shake hands, and never bring this up. Jedi, i shot you a PM, read it.


AGAIN, i have no problem with Deaedcell, i met fists, hes an intresting character. Deadcell plays good paintball, shouldnt let some petty BS like this get to them. Its a done deal.

I had fun at AO NJ day, but right now, if this continues, i dont think i would want to go to another AO event. Capo, you are right, all of this bickering is giving NJ AO day a bad image.

On the subject of reffing, it seemed like it was pretty impartial and fair to me. The only bad call that I remember seeing was in the finals against Threesome when somebody got blasted in their pack and a whole debacle ensued. That looked like a real mess, and I don't envy the refs for having to sort through that one.

Otherwise it seemed on the up and up. Maybe I wouldn't have reffed my own team just to avoid the appearance of unfairness, but since it seems no one else stepped up they didn't have much choice.

hey i was really glad that i went to the meet but after all this, that im hearing im seconding guessing my decision of taking my little brother, girlfriend and her bestfriend. REASON: i dont think it would be cool if someone getting tick off might cause any of my guest to get hurt. I second Capo's opinion keep this all on pms cuz i dont think i will bring my friends to something that might get them hurt due to someones anger. That is why during the finals, we put 4-5 Black Cell members to watch Dead Cell. That way nobody could accuse the reffing staff.

I give the refs credit. We didn't ask them to ref. They stepped up and did it. They could have been playing, same as all of us, as it was not THEIR event.
