This is my new featherlight. As a Xmag owner also, I must say that this marker has a feel all its own as compared to the Xmag. I have yet to expirience FSDO or a ball break. Vikings IMO are so easy to maintain, have an excellent rate of fire, Light, and look great. Now as for AKA no longer making them. If you want a viking I highly reccomend you get one before the prices go to high. Good luck on your research.

Chao!

Actually, Im probably going to pull that. I made the classic error of failing to read the instruction manual, and assumed that the firing modes on the Excalibur were similar to the viking. They arent. The equivilant of "simulate" mode on the excal is "bypass" and it limits your rof to 10 bps. Once I got a lot of paint thru it on normal mode, I fell in love.

The excal is a closed bolt marker, as opposed to the open bolt. The excal is just a hair slower than the viking, but its still plenty fast. My new excal seems to be a little more efficient than my old viking, a bit more consistant, and a lot smoother. I find I am able to produce better groupings, and my snapshooting was a lot better than it was with my viking. I also just like the way it feels when shooting.

Internally, the configuration of the excal is different, as once of the chambers handles the air, and the other handles the movement of the bolt.

The only thing that would make me as happy as the excal would probably be a nice featherlight viking.

how much does the '04 weigh? I am having trouble finding the figures.

Any idea of whom still has an 04 excal in stock?

I think the 04 viking weights about 2.7 lbs, and the 04 excal weighs a little more than that. I can throw it on the scale when I get home.

As far as who has them in stock, Im not sure if anyone does. OTE stopped taking orders for them on the 5th. Maybe select or yeppers might have one?

I understood it too (I guess 4 years of Spanish back in high school are still paying off).

Yea don't try to get one from Chris at (OTE) he is a very very busy man right now and is taking a long time for people's orders. I'm still waiting on mine after 4 and half weeks. Try to contact Dan and he will get one out to you a lot faster. The viking is a great marker
