I think I read the article about control bore lengths. I thought that some length was good (4-6 inches) and beyond that it starts to cause negative effects. But, less than 4-6 causes negative effects too..I thought. THis isn't the first barrel system with the short control bore design, this design has mixed reviews.

        ahhhh here we go boys:

"So as far as our guns are concerned, the best efficiency would be had with an 8-10" effective length barrel. Since two piece ported barrels with an effective length of about 5-6" are the rage right now you hear a lot of complaints about gas efficiency. Under some circumstances there is a good reason to use a short effective length barrel. Short barrels cut off the acceleration abruptly by venting and this has the effect of tightening up the shot to shot velocity variation. If you need this at the expense of efficiency then go ahead. Tighter velocity control usually translates into some improvement in accuracy due to better consistency."
        -AGD here

So, Tom is saying less control bore=tighter shot to shot variation, some improvement in accuracy because or more consistancy, but it would be less efficent.

Therefore, a your precious Scepter is more effiecent but less accurate, and a Hammerhead/Sw!tch would all be more accurate, and less efficent.

yeah! who's following the hype now! even your god, TK, said it

in that article Toms idea of a short bore is 5-6 inches. I agree that this is about the optimal length of control bore.

The switch only has a 1 inch long control bore. It just seems like that may be too short. I know that I am not alone here in thinking this way, I didnt buy it b/c of this reason.

I don't know. I have a Kaner kit now, and I love it, but experience-wise the most accurate barrel I have ever used was a first gen OTP that had 1 inch inserts. This is not a controlled test experience. Just a comparison based on impression.

Ok, I got to test ou tthe barrel today. I must say, this is the most accurate barrel I have ever tested. WIth Evil paint, it shot amazingly. WIth the stock Speed barrel, I always had a little varience in accuracy with just about any paint, but all the shots I shot today were dead on. This barrel really does put the paint where you want it to go. I also noticed it was pretty quiet too, so this is the best barrel I have shot yet...

I am testing a single barrel. The bore size it .691. Works great with evil paint I have. I will be getting a kit within the next two weeks or so, and I can give that a full review as it comes along. Mark has a tip, and he loves it, you can PM him for more info if you need.

If you don't toss the review on this thread, can you PM me the link to the review of the kit when you do it? Trying to figure out if I want to buy 2 stiffi's or the kit.
