    Psi of a c02 tank

How much psi does a regular c02 tank put out. Its a pure energy 16oz. It's important that i find out. Thanx

        It's highly dependent on temperature.

at 90 degrees you can get about 900-1000psi out of a tank
at 40 degrees you probably only get 400-500psi. Pressure can vary shot to shot, especially if you suck liquid out of the tank.

Remotes, expansion chambers and stabilizers all help shot to shot consistency, and can put an upper limit on CO2 pressure, but can't really do much about increasing lowered output.

and btw, the number of shots you get out of a tank decreases with the temperature also.

nooo.... no where near 1800psi, although it does vary with temperature. The hotter the temp, the higher the pressure. Generally though, you're looking around 800psi.

The burst disk on a CO2 tank is designed to go out at 1500PSI.
CO2 varies pressure according to temperature as stated above.
Generally you are working with anywhere from 800-1200 PSI.
There is a page somewhere that has a formula for its pressure according to elevation and temp , but I am too lazy to look for it.

                        In reply....

All of the above. Mostly, except I've read that burst disks do their thing at either 2200psi or 2800psi. The tank working pressure is 1800psi. The psi of the Co2 is totally dependant on 2 factors: 1. Temp. and, 2. How full the tank is. If you want to know what the pressure of your tank is right now and at any temperature go to www.warpig.com. Along the top bar of the web page click on the technical button. Choose both Co2 dynamics and Co2 phase chart in the right hand column. They will blow you away and give you some cool info. in so doing. There is some inacuracy in the description (tanks are actually more that 50% filled when "Full-As-Rated") but you'll get the important stuff you need. Just don't get bogged down in the math the first time you read the article. Wait til the 3rd or 4th time

A regulator can never boost the pressure above what enters it from the tank. If you can set up your gun(Autocockers, Spyders, Timmys, Angels...) to run at lower psi than what your cold Co2 tank can deliver, you can get very good results with a regulator. In fact I feel very strongly that all Co2 driven markers be regulated if they can run below 600psi.

                        Hope this helps.

This man speaks the truth. A low pressure marker can run great on it. My lowest pressure spyder (<400?) can be ripped on till the tank is frosty without shootdown. 285. I have seen blazers run great on it too.

so if i put a regulator and adjust it to about 550 psi it will work. thanx, im building a scenario cannon and i didn't want to have shrapnel flying at me because of too high a pressure. Thanx

It also depends on who filled it
It it is overfilled in 40degree weather, it will be higher then 400-500.
I think i head the psi changes 11psi for every degree F.
