of course. It combines the best of both worlds.

the pull weight of an electronic marker but the kick of the RT makes for the perfect trigger for a guy like me who has a heavy hand on the trigger from years of shooting the RT. Now I have the featherlight pull so my hand does not get tired but the bounce ensures that my fingers get off the trigger for the next shot.

There's a point where hybrid can help, but there's also a point where I think it slows you down. I've noticed that it is easier to hit 20bps w/o the rod getting in the way. Maybe it's my imagination.

I never play tournaments so I can the hybrid mode without worry of legality .I can shoot fater in pure e-mode , however it takes alot more effort , when I'm running hybrid I have a tendency to focus more on the game instead of shooting fast. Also how you set up the trigger makes the biggest difference.

              Hybrid What? Rod what rod?

Personaly I dint like it... so I removed the rod in order to get a bit more out of e. Now I just need to get ahold of a better reg for my system so I get rid of this shootdown.

I only used my hybrid mode once in a walk on game. I used it when I was just out in my yard messing with my gun, but I only used in a walk on once when this kid with a 98 custom rt kept laying paint at us, I let him have it with hybrid mode.

I've messed around with Hybrid, but not enough to be confident with it. I found it easier to fire faster strictly in Emode.

I suppose I'll goof around with Hybrid more during rec/woods games. But for now...in practice and tournies...it's strictly E.

I know that Hybrid is a combo of E and mech modes, but what exactly is going on inside the marker when it fires?

Its having the marker's selector switch open for manual, so theres no back stop, but having the electronincs on.

The pull can be the same length as in pure mech mode, but once the magnet trips the HES sensor, it activates the noid, cycling the marker and inducing the "retro kickback".
That lets you pull the trigger with say 5grams of force, and rely on a return force of over twice that. Its just like sweetspotting an RT... just easier.

                        what he said.

Whenever I get my tank filled again Ill video it. I think Hybrid is the closest thing to a blatent cheating mode on the E-Mag as you can hold your finger on the trigger with just a bit of practice and spew 20+bps

                        ....gotta love it.

Hybrid is there b/c of Tom's mechanical backup system.

I used to use it up until 3.2. After 3.2, it was all E for me.

When I had the 1.37 software on my gun, the hybrid mode had an awesome sweet spot. After I got the 3.2 though hybrid seems like a waste. It is way faster to just walk it in E than hold a sweet spot in hybrid.

Where is fuji, that evil 4.0 hybrid using tx-ball cheater ?
Hold up! I wasn't cheating! Well, not exactly. First off, during day one, I couldn't shoot above 14-ish BPs due to a warped trigger rod (Thanks Curtis, Evan and Brian!) and POS 3.2 software. Spent the better part of that night and part of the next morning getting the mag humming.

Day two, well now... Hybrid + Sweet tuned mag = 18+ BPS sweetness. (Hey! GTRSI, you didn't seem to be complaining when you were on our team on Sunday. )

I've found that while hybrid is fun and all, it has waaay too much bounce problems. For rec ball, I set my ROF to 14 and emode only. I haven't played in any tourneys lately so I haven't messed much with the debounce setting.

Brian is right, you HAVE TO have a high input pressure (from the tank) to really get the solenoid plunger to reset fast enough for high ROF. (Me = ~1000 PSI) He's also correct in that above 18ish BPS, hybrid is a handicap (at least for me).

[OT - Brian shoot me an email, wanted to know if you wanted me to make you an 18v - 12v regulator harness for your warp/revvy, and to ask ya a question about something else.]

Got my friend this past weekend to put his timmy down and try the 'mag. After 2 games, he was grinning from ear to ear and wondering where he could get an emag.
