I'll be sure to look into the TES and Pirhannas. But, I currently have a Spyder Imagine and really, I just want a change. Will either of these guns offer a nice change for me?

Also, how hard / expensive would it be to upgrade my stock Imagine to a tournament level? I currently play RecBall, but eventually (and hopefulyl soon) I plan on getting a team together and going tourny.

      Thanks,

it depends on what you mean by tournament level. Imagines are already tournament ready(as long as you can make sure you cant switch into different firing modes.

When I said Tournament Ready, I mean able to compete with High-End guns like, say, an RT Pro or maybe OutKast? I'm sure that's possible with enough work done to it...?

Question is, why do you think it can't compete now? You will never turn it into a mag or cocker or anything else. It's a matter of preference.

I think it can do okay in a tourny, but it can be better (faster, lighter (??), and more accurate). Really, this option would just be apealing to my need to constantly upgrade and modify everything I own.

Hmm given that... To be brutally honest, you'd be
better off spending money on a good solid fast flowing
reg and investing the rest in a good reputable barrel kit
and one of those paintball sizing plates (I use
a WDP one) and presorting your paintballs into
separate bags based on size. Paint to barrel match
determines your accuracy and the reg will keep it
well fed... Don't go the ultra low-pressure route
otherwise you'll suffer dropoff at higher rates of fire.

That's where my money would go...

2004 is going to be insane with e-spyders that have ACE.
I know the eye has been in the works for wuite some time. They finally released it?

I have to agree here though.A spyder is a great marker to start off with and can be upgraded to be really nice.A buddy of mine is actually selling his autococker because his Spyder Flash is so trouble free and works so well.

I have a good impression of 98's and Pirahnas as good workhorse markers that are good for their price. So if you don't want a tippman, get any of the various pirahnas. None will be fast enough to keep up with the ROF you see in tourneys, not even close, but I'd say go with an the new Piraha Eforce Elite or whatever they're calling it that has an electronic frame and eyes, it should be a solid 12-15bps marker which you could use a revy or egg on and not chop.

if your going to buy a bko do not buy a first gen, buy the newest generation of bko. I owned a first gen and it had nothing but problems, unbelieveable! I have heard that they have since worked out most of its problems with the latest gen, research it before you buy!

I'm not sure but doesn't the TES "The One Kit" fit in to the Spyder.

I would suggest reconsidering the requirement that the gun be new. Certain markers tend to be virtually ageless if well maintained.

My experience is that you could get a used mag for $250 that will shoot as nice as it did the day it was born. You should be able to find a very nice classic mag with lvl 10 and a 2x frame for that price, possibly with an intelliframe or ule body.

Get a spyder. Everything you described and more.
...BUT... A used mag or a used cocker is nice too. Both very upgradable and both very reliable. Stock cockers are awesome for the price..trust me. They are insane quality for the money. Just DO NOT buy cocker knockoffs, you'll be sorry .

Well, the main problems with getting a base cocker are that they start at 310 (w/ bottom line) which is WELL more than I have, and I'd prefer something a little less complicated/less maintnance.

But, please keep the suggestions coming!
