rps raising prices on paint?

hiya guys and gals,i just got an email from xpaintball.com telling me to buy my paint now cuz there raising (sp) there prices monday.is there any truth to this?thnx in advance for the info :)p.s. let me clarify,the email said it was rps that was raising the prices

yup. true. talked to a local field owner thursday and he said pmi has raised his price 3$ across the board.

It's true. I think the cost of all paint will rise not just RPS.

You could be right about all paint rising in price however RPS have seemed to have this opinion that everyone should pay more for their paint anyway. A World Cup 2 years ago everyone was prepared to do some kind of price on their paint but RPS would budge an inch...no wonder no-one other than "sponsored" teams fired RPS at the event, the guy manning the tent must have had the loneliest World Cup ever.
I know you can say that to fire the "best" you have to pay for it but in a market place where you need volume sales it doesn't sound like a particularly good idea. For as much as $20-30 a case more than everyone else I want the ball to hit the player I shoot at by satallite guidence.

There was a $2 increase across the board due to an increase in price of one of the components of the shell going up in price. I don't carry much RPS, so I don't know if they went up $3.

this compenant must be quite expensive..if it raises the price of paint 2 dollars..

saw an article on this a week or so ago. Comes from higher oil prices. The second largest component in a paintball is a petroleum derivative. There's also increased transportation costs. Overall, it's not that high of a price jack, it just depends on how much MORE the middle men tack on.

that certain component is known as petroleum. every company is raising prices by about the same amount. Which shows you how paintball is tied in with big business.

What? This is news to me, but it explains why my field changed from Big Ball to "Mayhem," and the stuff seems like it's the same.

FYI its 3 to 5 bucks raised whole sale so expect 8-10 bucks higher retail and at fields..
