It is very easy to set up a level 10 once it is set up you will never have to set it again. The reason why they give you shims is because manufacturing tolerances differ slightly between valves. Once you find the tolerance you dont have to touch it ever again.
Once you find the tolerance indicates what I was talking about ..setup time
plus the setting of shims or otherwise doesn't stay put forever, components wear. Look at the number of posts asking what to do about setting a LX that appear here
Heck the X-mag eye works you don't even need to set up an LX.
Pretty true but remember the X-mag is a single reflective single eye not break beam eyes so has to be set for a compromise setting, sensi or cops is a definate system that will only detect a ball at the lowest height in the breech, the break beams are higher and will detect balls in a more positive way, again neither system is perfect as either marker can both have issues, you have to understand how they work, I'm sure you do but others reading this may not
Honestly shims are not needed unless you want to make a super duper rolled up dollar pinching machine.
I personally thought that was the idea of the LX system as anything else is a risk
I run ZERO shims and a number 1 carrier. Its been that way friggin forever since I got the valve a few years ago. I also have never had a chop EVER since that time. I try to play every week so that is countless cases of paint.
What works for you won't work for everyone
Other than that its simply a matter of choosing between 3 springs depending on what velocity you are shooting at.
Still a choice has to be made and tried, this all takes time, you don't have this choice on an Angel as it isn't needed
Input is easy. Set it at 750-800 no bounce.
You might not bounce at that psi but a lot of E-mag/X-mags will. This was what I meant about setting up to the psi needed for your particular marker
I am not coming down on Mag owners, I would get fried well crispy if I was to do that especially here
more a case of being honest of what you have to do to keep things correctly working
