      I think they're melted down so they have to make less replacement parts for the discontinued valves. And so they don't have to keep fixing old valves.

        Yep. Sent in valves are melted and never used again. Its cheaper to throw them away than to sell them and have to repair them every so often...

          They could rebuild them, then stamp it as "VOID" and sell it. Meaning the valve will not be serviced by AGD whatsoever, they don't have to make replacement parts and people can buy new rebuilt valves straight from AGD for cheaper
