Yes, I hold some strong opinions, but I'm also very anti-hype, I want the Truth instead of marketing buzzwords, and I'm not afraid to change my mind when I learn something new.

One of these days I'm gonna sneak down Tom's way and pick his brain. I spent a couple of hours talking to Bud back in '98, and he really wasn't "answering" my questions, he was just repeating the same answer he's given for similar questions a hundred times before.

    Doc.

Heh. That's why there's no qualifier next to the first four names. You, Tom, Glenn and Mike all strongly believe in the stuff you put out, but realize and don't hide the limitations. Haven't had much discourse with Bob Long or Dave Youngblood, but based on the marketing hype they produce, I somehow doubt they'd be frank about their own product's limitations, which is unfortunate, because I don't doubt that either knows their paintball and paintball gear.

I don't follow the tourney circuit enough to know who'd be a better choice, though. I know several scenario gamers that'd fit the bill, but most of them aren't very well known outside that mileu, and since it wasn't specified, I'm assuming this panel is geared toward all of paintball (I'd have an entirely different list for scenario only). I'd want someone on the panel who can look at innovations in tech from the player's perspective, preferably somebody who's tried nearly every bit of gear out there and can comment intelligently on it. Also someone to make sure the other four don't go making anything that might set the apocalypse clock back to say, 11:59.

Send Bud and Glenn into the same room through different doors... tell each of them the other wanted to apologize to the them for the whole auto-cocking thing... lock the doors, turn on the cameras....

I dunno though, seeing Have Blue, Punisher, Big Matt, and a bunch of others at EMR last fall was really cool... if Manike and Doc coulda been there, who knows what kind of antics would have gone on around the bonfire...

                    I like Tom's list....

I've got a feeling that a vast number of younger players in this game (i.e. 98% of those under the age of 25 or so) have no idea who Lively and Caldwell were, or that the NPPL originally formed in response to the "tyranny" of promoters.

If you are looking for an "old school" player that wouldn't be afraid to speak his mind...I would maybe point you towards Ron Kilbourne of the 'Wackers. He might be partial to WorrGames products and ZAP paint...but he isn't afraid to tell it like it is...and he has been playing tourney ball for A LONG TIME.
