I called my friend a newb before, just because everything i get he allways wants to get.

For instance.............. I got a double trigger for my tippmann now he wants one.

I Got a new gun, now he wants one

I need nitro now hes getting nitro

Hes only been playing 2 years though.


I think you ownlo have the right to call someone a newb if you have been playing more tahn half your life.

I was playing spoonzies and as always I ripped my friend. So anyway after a while I started saying "OwnT".

We'll heres the thing a noob thinks hes smart, and doesn't really have a clue thats he or she is a complete idiot. If someones a noob, there annoying and think there just as good as you and are going to get better and own you as the day goes on.

I stay away from the term unless the "idiot" brings it up himself. I really like to stay friendly towards everyone this way im mad chillin with everyone

The only kids who say noob at my school are the ones who play yu gi oh so i avoid the word with a passion. I really dont notice a lot of the kids I play with at my field saying it either. I usually just say new players.

You do realize newb isn't degrading? It just means someone is a new player. Saying newb is a lot shorter then saying new player.

No, it's definately derrogatory. It's a condescending term used by young kids, or immature adults, to mask their own relative inexperience.

"New player," is both descriptive and neutral.

My very first time playing paintball (14 years ago) I played a walkon game. It was 5 poor saps like me vs a 5-man tourny team. So after listening to 15 minutes of how I was newbie freshmeat we played. I 3 of the old dawgs.

Ahhh.... I can still remember the looks on their faces as I shot them with my Line SI rental and sent their WGP Sniper toting butts back to the neutral zone
