well i had a great day last saturday. weather was good, good turn out, good paint. you know everything that makes for a good day of paintballing. anyways, i only took maybe 5 hits the whole day. but there was one that bothered me. i took one on the upper inside of my thigh about 3/4 of an inch away from the jewels. now i dont know about you guys, but thats a little too close for me.

anyways.....i was just curious if there are those of you who actually wear a cup while you play. i dont know, i never really gave it a thought until i almost took a shot there. most of the time i take a shot, its either to the mask or my upper body

I've taken some close shots there... and a couple ones that bounced off my leg and then hit me there

over all I just try and not think about it and hope it never happens...

i have been hit in the beans at least 3 times and the frank one time. Getting hit in the frank was waayyyy worse than the beans. All of the hits were at least half field away and everyone cronos under 300 fps. I still dont wear a cup cause when I played baseball in school I got a nasty rash down there (im delicate) the rash usally lasted 2 to 4 days the pain from a crotch shot last about 10 to 15 mins. I now carry a disposable ice pack in my gear bag in case I take another one in the frank n beans.

i wasn shot point blank in the left nut by a guy who i bunkered, then he turned and shot, was terrible, i just laid there for ~20 min, then crawled off field and sat out for a while. Now, i dont wear a cup, but i do wear pants with a padded crotch that work pretty well.

I have been shot were you are describing twice on each thigh. I was shot about 1/4 inch above my nuts at NJAO4. I've had a few bouncers that bounced off my pants, not my boys. I dont where a cup, and dont think I will. Somep ants will have some extra material that helps.
If you dont like the awkward feeling of wearing a cup, try a towel. A small dish towel hanging in front( either in or out of your pants) will help if a ball travels towards your boys.

I wear a cup, allways have. It's unconfortable, but you get used to it. Never taken a hit in that region in 9 years. Everytime I think about loosing the cup, my mind backtracks to some pic I saw of a guy who got hit in a nut and remeber what he wrote regarding that subject (specially when he refered to it as "out of comission").

Been hit several times on the inner thigh to close for comfort. Got a grazer once. " You know the type where you get a couple seconds to realize whats just happend". That one was fun.

Iv been hit in the jewels once. Still dont wear a cup, but I do where slider shorts now, but those things are WAY to tight on me, so I am gonna get some C4 pants with the padded crotch Get some kind of pants with a padded crotch, you will be ok.

i wear a cup and always will.
the other day i bunkered a kid and he shot me twice in the cup and it still hurt like crazy.
if i didnt have a cup on i would probablly still be in pain
i just dont want to chance it, and after taking 2 shots from that distance w/ a cup on i dont want to know what it would feel like w/o a cup

I try not to think about that when I play. I dont wear a cup, but I'm not that good yet, so I usually play mid at my field.

I've been hit in the nads a couple of times over the years and it sucks. I got hit once way back when me and a friend had tracers and we thought it would be fun to play with the winter springs in the spring and summer. Now for those of you that don't know, the winter spring opens the valve longer for use in cold weather when the co2 pressure is low. Now if you use it in the summer, the guns shoot like 100fps over the speed limit.

a popular thing i have noticed among scenario players is a towel draping over the front of your pants, most of the time secured by the person's pod pack be it wrapped over the waist strap or held by the strap (like redz belts and what not) to where it hangs down... this i think is a good approach cause it also can cause bounces in that area

i've decided to start doing this, especially during final battles where there is so much paint flying it is quite possible to catch one in the cluster.

Before I started scenarios I would wear a cup for just regualr rec play. Then I wore one for 24 hours. I couldn't walk the day after my groin hurt so bad. Now I just shove a piece of foam down "there".

However, let me tell you a little true story of a buddy. About 12 years ago he slid into a bunker right leg on the ground, left leg up in the air braced against the bunker. He was shooting up hill. A paintball raced down the hill and pulled a heatseeking move on the 'ol testes. The biggest problem was that he had a huge rip in the crotch of his pants. There was NOTHING to even soften the blow. The next weekend I saw him at the field (we worked there too) and his scrotum (medical term, no flaming!) was bigger than a softball. It was one of the nastiest things I have seen, and I have seen my fare share. Moral of the story...protect the jewels it might be nice to have some kids or be able to speak in a tenor.
