    Best back up mark

Hey, just wondering what is the best back up marker for a front player? Something guaranteed to work, not heavy & preforms we'll under stress.

I was thinking of a 04 bushy w/pds, but I'm not sure at all.

If you want a marker you can leave sitting around for months until its needed one of the more "tanklike" mechanicals is likely where its at. A tippman (gasp) or a mag is perfectly suited to this.

However... there is a disadvantage to switching back and forth between markers. My two are nearly twins (03 Shockers, one has rebound on doesn't, rebounds off at tournies anyways). Both use the same hopper, same feedneck, same tank, and are even the same color.

Having two complete setups that you can switch back and forth on saves you a lot of panic in tournaments should you ever have an issue - I have yet to have this issue.

          Anything that you maintain.

I know a kid that plays with his 2k2 timmy over his naughty dogs because his 2k2 is more reliable. It was originally his "Backup" gun but now he uses it more then ever.

I keep a MT converted 03 speed as a back up to my Fly, why ? The Joy Is sexier but they both shoot the exact same.

i think it'd be easier to answer this question if first you answered these two questions.

              1. What kind of gun are you using as your main?

              2. What is your spending limit?

I just shot a B2k a few days ago and I was surprised how much you can rip on it! it is pretty fast except there was one problem about getting bunkered and the gun being shot and a screw fell out! haha

                      ..

Heck, an 04' B2K is my primary with an Icon-Z as a back up. You people have way too much money if your back-ups cost 300+.

I think that really depends of the type of tournies you play. I don't want my backup holding me back at all.

I don't want to be in a tournament, have to switch markers, pull up to shoot someone and realize then that I have to pull the trigger a long ways rather than just touch it. Nope Nope, that would suck. I may play for fun, but I like to win, and hate to see stupid things on my part cost team a win. Mostly because everytime they do I end up buying dinner.

Explanation: My team has a standing bet. Dumbest move of the day buys dinner when we travel to tournaments. I have yet to not loose this bet.

In the truest sense of the word, your backup should be the same type of gun as your primary. That way, no matter what, you should be able to put together a working setup.

                            Something to think about.

KIeep a look out for those new odyssey markers. Very nice for a $300-400 backup.
