rec play: Mech or Electro?

mech i think because you dont need to lay off paint if you playing for fun i think electros are for turneys only. i dont like useing E in rec unless if i get pissed off at someone that i cant get out

mechanical all the way!! why do you need electro in the first place? so that your gun can hit 25bps but you cant? IMO electros are pretty useless to prettymuch anyone, except for tourney people, and even so, they may not need them anymore (hAir's coming out sooner or later...). and my favorite point about mechs:

It really depends on who I'm playing with. If I'm at a bigger field, I'll use my viking. If I'm just with some friends in our backyard, then I'll use my minimag.

Well, I only have a viking, bushmaster, and old school .68 carbine, so I use electro for everything, unless I am using CO2, then i rock the carbine. I am selling my bushwacker, so I might pick up a blazer, so I can use CO2 effectively and it is mech.

Id say mech because you really dont need to be shooting all that much paint.

Mech, though I play pump more often than anything else.

Why mech?
(1) Lower ROF = cheaper, and that's good when you aren't playing for prizes.
(2) One of the principal uses of a high ROF electro is put enough paint on your opponent that several balls will break, and can't be easily wiped or missed by the refs. That's not usually a factor in rec games.
(3) A new player or rental player in a walk-on game who gets repeatedly lit up with 20 balls by electro-markers probably isn't coming back. That's bad for the business, and for the sport.

I genrally use my Xmag at rec, but have been getting away from using it there recently. I am starting to use the mech or pump more often. Cheaper, more fun, and refreshes those movement skills.

We run a six man team for the most part and we do scenarios and woods ball, 4 of us run Mechs and only 2 run Electros. The Electros we use as heavy gunns so they can lay down cover fire the rest of the team... I love my Mech 68 Classic to much to go electro
