To the best of my knowledge silencers are legal to own for Paintball Markers in Canada Rokudon. As your location lists you as living in Ontario I would say that you can make one. Now that being said, just covering the stock rifling of a ported barrel won't be enough. You need to have very large holes for the air and sound to vent into. If you can find some internal pictures of the old Tasco Golden O-ring silencer you will see what I mean.

wow some1 acctually read the location thing... lol but no, i'm not saying cover the stock porting, i'm saying drill your own porting into the middle of the barrel, then wrap that up. and people in canada can seriously use them? wow and i thought canadian law was more strict (like our 5mph minimum car bumper standards... stupid bumper standards... keeping all those nice cars off our side of the border....)

Previous examination of sound suppressing devices for paint ball guns by this office has determined that these devices possess design features and charactaristics consistent with firearm silencers. Additionally, when tested, these devices reduced the audible sound of a firearm. Your drawings are consistent with such devices.
So there you go. The BATF thinks paintball marker silencers COULD be used to silence traditional firearms, making a paintball silencer ILLEGAL as provided by US law (even when the silencer is made from a piece of plastic pipe and a wad of toilet paper). So any links to a page selling/distributing/advertising/making a paintball silencer from this site would make me in violation of US law.

The article on Warpig is an excellent example of why you shouldnt make a silencer on your marker.

FYI - one can legally obtain a silencer permit for firearms - so I would think you could for a marker, but the tax is $200.

I know of one person who had an old BOA with a silencer, and it WAS confiscated by a BATF agent on the field. Below are the letters they sent him about it.

Dont screw with stuff the ATF can come after you for. They have got to be the most facist organization in the gov - and you dont want to be on their bad side.

You can legaly make a suppression device, however, you must pay a fee to the BATF before begining. That's the only stipulation, oh and assuming that you don't have a record with the DoJ.

EDIT - And I remember the good-ol days of the BOA barrels... I miss the concealer, it worked... but not really all that well, it ended up taking the a shot from being sharp and hard to kind of a thump.

the BOA Concealer worked alot better if you added some "stuff"......

ah...those were the days. I remember seeing advertisements in APG for those barrels in '95 or '96.

Hey...didnt they just lift a ban on assult weapons?? These include guns with stocks, silencers, anything that is military style...we were learning about it in a government class. correct me if im wrong.

EDIT: Sorry... here is a link for the exact specifications for the assult weapon ban...silencers are not included

                        Here are a few...

                        * Magazine that attaches outside of the pistol grip

                        * Threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer*

                        * Shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned

                        * Manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded

                        * Semiautomatic version of an automatic firearm

*Note: "the ability to accept" a silencer does not mean these firearms are so equipped. Silencers have been as heavily regulated as machine guns since the 1934 National Firearms Act.

i made a silencer that fit over the end of a lapco autospirit, worked very well, it involved pvc, abs, steel wool, and cut up tire tube which i wrapped around the pvc so when i slid the abs over it, it would fit right.

lol so your saying that silencers are allowed now?
*EDIT* i just read up to that point, it doesnt cover the making or use of them, it just talks about the gun being able to accept it.

so wait. why was an agent at the field in the first place. an agent who had enough technical knowledge of paintball to identify one specific barrel out of the dozens of others already there. hmmmm i think we have a bloody conspiracy on our hands!
