I'm not positive, but I think the Freestyle is about the same size but is a few ounces lighter.

If you want a gun that has no kick, is small and light then look at Shockers and Freestyles. Both are excellent guns that fit all three categories.

Proto Matrixes are great for a front man. They are very small and light.

I play front and it is very comfortable for this position.

I love my matrix, it is an older model that I upgraded a bit, has the evolve bolt, scm lpr, cp roller trigger, new designz breech, tadao 4.0 and eyes....I shot a ule emag for a while and when I switched I didn't think it was big or heavy, and it performs flawlessly!
I wouldn't trade it for anything, my teammates shoot Dm4's and I prefer the way my gun shoots, plus they have to get airfills after a couple of games and Im still good to go!

i dont really care that much about the weight. My friends autococker is like 10 lbs with everything on. Does anyone know the dealership information for DYE, i think i can get one for cheap if someone i know starts a dealership with them, (hes buying stuff and selling it to my friends at dealership price cuz hes a loser).

oh yeah, should i keep my 68ci tank, or trade for a 72ci tank from someone i know?
I wanna X-mag, but im too poor.

The trix is a great marker for any position. They are fast, reliable, very easy to clean and accurate (no matter the volume of paint ur shootin'). They require to be lubbed often, but it's rather easy to do. Heavy and a bit blocky, yea; but nothing you can`t get used to, trust me. My advice would be to get one with eyes; TMC is a great place to start since they have very cool Matrix options at very affordable prices.

And there great upgrades for it too!

DYE requires a $5K first time purchase and they are very reluctant to set up sales contracts with any shop that isn't brick and mortar. They also are very strict about MAP so I doubt he will be able to get the deal. Just pick up a used one. They are already cheap as hell.

That is true, I'm working on setting up a contract with them right now.

Any gun can be used at any position. I've used shockers, trixes, timmys, and angels all of them in the front position. I love trixes, they are fast, no quick and dead quiet. I almost feels like you aren't shooting. Any highend gun in the current market can be used in any position.

BTW, lightest gun is the ND Timmy at 1 lb without a reg or barrel.

                        that sucks...
something new, some one know one of those middle man dealerships that sells dye stuff,
(buy it at dealer price, and sell to other people ). Hes right now signed up for a tippmann one, and the price drop for an A-5 is still good. 230 to 150, and thats how much i sold my A-5 for too.

ANY gun can be used in ANY position. I used to play front and mid with the old 4x4 Shocker, never took a gun hit ever.

True, but for me some guns are easier to play different positions with than other. For instance, with my Shocker I seem to be doing better at snap shooting faster and hitting my targets than I have with other larger, heavier guns.

Thats true, but with practice, you really can use any gun.

I think that all the trix's are a little too big for a front man. I had a push button model for a couple of years. It was pretty good. Fast, accurate, a little big and heavy compared to some. It also required pretty regular maintenance, even compared to other high end guns.

                                Good gun, minor drawbacks.
