actually i have to agree that spyders arent that great. they are mass produced, low quality markers based off of a simple design. looking at the gun you can see costs being cut everywhere. but then again, you generally get what you pay for, and spyders are great entry level markers, and help new people get into the sport. my friend only bought one because his dad would not let him spend more than $250 on a gun, even though he had over $500 saved up. he had origionally planed on getting either an impy, bushy or bko; i actually posted here to help him decide what marker to get.Comment

your opinion sucks, and your history on this forum has proven that this is not a one-time offense.
for the amount of posts you've supposedly penned, one would've assumed that you could've caught on to the ideals on which the Automags.Org users group was founded. And one would've assumed wrong, since you obviously are too busy spewing PBNationesque bile that's, consciously or not, intended to cut down people who enjoy paintball not only as a sport but as a social activity, and AO as a home for those who like to push the boundaries and make personal statements with their equipment, however inexpensive or "low-quality" it may be.
but, whatever. Haters are haters, and there's no way to control that. Hopefully other, newer and younger players will see your words for what they are, and won't subscribe to your garbage.

Just wanted to say nice job man.
The one thing I've got to say about this little debate that's been brewing is that on one hand you got all these people saying that spyders suck, blah blah blah. But then again I see tons of people (not in this particular thread but in other places) complaining about how they hate seeing 10 year old kids at the field with alias's and other high end guns. I mean what are people supposed to start out playing with. I know that I started out with a spyder and I still have it today (it's 5 years old). If you're gonna sit back and say how bad kingman sucks then don't complain when a young kid goes out and buys a "real" marker for his first marker.Good Traders:JoeyJoe367, Blazestorm213, RetardedRiceBowl, rsadich,PaInTbALL zAcH, jwyke. Lord Gabriel the Jacob is here to the rescue!Originally posted by WARPED1the Spyder is a piece of junk. They are mass produced, Kingman believes in quantity over quality. If you like that type of gun, by a Piranha. The only thing with Spyders is they take the same gun, change the color, add a few extra fairly useless parts, and charge $100 extra.
Well, after 14 years in the game maybe you havent learned much about business. EVERY major company in the world today mass-produces good. It started with Henry Ford. Is your pickup truck a piece of junk simply because it's one of 2,000,000 being made each year? I doubt you would argue that point in cars, so why do it in paintball? AL paintballs are mass produced, yet you have no problem putting them through your *gasp* mass-produced marker!
And, my great sir, if you truly have been in it for 14 yers, you will remember when spyders were the top of the line, PRO marker of choice. Fads change, things go out of style, but that it is a "cheap" design does not mean it isn't worth anything.

I thought all high end guns were hand crafted by certified artists!
Spyders are great for what you pay for them.
Lets see... Spyder < $200
High end Marker > $800
I think we can all agree with a price difference like that, that a little lower quality is expected.
What do you expect? High-end craftmanship in a sub $200 marker?

But back to the milling, Great Job!
Thats the best thing about low end markers.
Don't like the way it looks? Theres no pain in putting tools to it! :P
I just did a Spyder-Mag, myself.

. i had to get the gun back to him though. oh yeah and we're both taking jewlery/metalsmithing classes next semester, and we decided to make custom grips for our markers, and he may make a trigger guard or even a trigger too. ill post the pics when that happens (wont be for a while).

the whole point with spyders sucking...no...if thats what you have to spend and you dont mind if you marker doesnt break all the time(not saying all high ends do...but they are more fragile) then spyders arnt that bad of a choice...personally i would take a 98 custom over one any day...you can throw a tippmann full force into a decent sized rock (like 1 or 2 ft wide) and it will work (ive done it once when i got mad)...so i doubt you coudld do that with a spyder when they being of a more complex design and not made out of tank armor (i know im exagerating).
BUT LETS GET THIS ON TOPIC!!! Thats was a VERY nice job...Comment

That is a HOT spyder
great job, especially with just a hacksaw and a file.

as i said before nice job, and as other people have dissed spyders, i would rather have one of thoes and not have to screw with it for ~150 than buy a cocker and spend ~350, spyders are very reliable and if you only need to shoot the opponent one time, you don't need 20bps out of a marke. oh yeah and sorry for the off topic."Ah yes, I have one of the 32*rebels that I always take to big scenario games.
