Oh so true! I have been making my videos on a Sony DSR PD150 from the start. looks MUCH nicer than our old hi-8 camera (yeah that is a pretty big tech jump but it's still very clear).

Basically all I am concerned with is this: Will that camera recorrd a good video with no skiips and DECENT quality? I mean im sure it does. Also, im sure that the others you listed are great but I just didnt wanna spend that much money on a cam.

NO it doesnt have to be mini dv. Im sure z-man and the other dude were just telling us their humble opinion, which i respect. But, you dont HAVE to have a mini-dv to record a decent pball vid im sure of.

im checking the editing station i have acces to tomororw to see if ineed miniDV or not, its like 2 stations for editing/finalizing the movie and then u can put the final ack on the cam or burn it onto a dvd CD

As long as what ever you buy has playback capabilites I am sure it will work. The question is how good of quality will it be. A $150 MPEG recoreder is not going to be high quality. I mean a digital camera with a "video" mode can work to record paintball...will it look good, no probably not.
