wow, that is an amazing comment, and an incredible compliment, thank you. Wow, and your right too! I didn't even realize that I could get this design(if they produced it) for my Retro-Z mag!!! Woohoo!

Man i am telling you that is the only way i would buy an emag extreme is if they use your design. That is soooo sweet. If they do go into production you can put first on the list to buy one.

ok well heres my thoughts on the battery. I drew a pic of your first pic with my version of the battery pack. My scanner is down so i had to use my web cam. Basically it is just a regular battery pack with an X over it wich is an extra layer. I originally had it like the X was the original layer and the indented parts(parts of the battery that are not the X has lines) as milled out of it but since the pack is thin I thought that the X could be an extra layer making the pack thicker. Just my thoughts. By the way the battery is sideways.

very cool...somehow I wanted to carry the 'X' over into the battery pack, or at the very least the frost anodizing...frost...! Thats it! You know the warp feeds and how Tom showed us that they can come in frost? Well, thats what the shaded areas in the 1st pic were, a frost finish of the original anodizing color. Oh man that would look sweet...and that is the word that fits it perfectly. I want to have some frost also be on the battery pack to tie in the whole design...I have been thinking of a few designs but nothing major yet. Thats ok though, now that I know the X-Mag is probably the best milling I can focus on the other parts.

I mentioned this higher up, at least I think it was this thread. All they have to do it beadblast the entire marker)body, breach(s), gripframe, battery) and they polish the raised parts. The beadblasted parts will have a satin, or to use angel terms "dust" appearance while the polished will have the standard glossy finish.

that looks very good.... If they adopted your design I would think that you should get a free X-mag for the least.

Btw I think a small squarish X on the sides of the battery pack would look nice. Small as in not from corner to corner, maybe leave a little space above and below and have the X carved into the middle.

Maybe AGD could do custom battery milling later on too. That would be shweet!

ok see how on this dye angle how it has this ironman logo jewel on the top of the gun. i would like to have an x or agd logo there or something but having a big logo engraved in the side of the gun just makes it look crappy

You could have some really nice two color schemes with that design. Great job Dave
yeah, I get what your saying, there are a ton of possible combos between 2 shades of color and all shiny, 1/2 shiny and 1/2 matte, and all matte.

I would get a black body, shiny, and green accents, matte-to go with my color scheme. That would look incredible. I think people who like the pewter color of the SFL would like it too. You could get shiny pewter, like LoadSM5's SFL, or matte finished pewter, like many of the SFL, or get a custom where you have the raised parts shiny pewter and the lower parts matte pewter!

I get what your saying. So if I was to take the 'X' off of it, what do you think would look good in place of it? Another interesting thing I noticed is that the SFL, admired by many, plainly has the logo 'SFL' right on the side of it, although it is not part of the milling in any way.

I remember what Manike was talking about earlier...he said he wanted to do something totally original, not taking someones idea, or not having something be a particular heavy influence on the design. Having the logo in the mill is just something I put there cause I didn't see anything else like it, and actually, for the most part, I am happy with how it came out. I can understand that if it was just a big plain sloppy 'X' on the side that stuck out really far, then most people would hate it. As Manike said milling into the breech probably can't go any farther than 1mm, because it needs to hold on to a lot of the metal.

If Manike and the AGDE team decide to mill this(Oh how I hope they would ) then it will give a better example of how it looks. Plus, it may look a little different when they are done with it if they do it. When I look over the first picture of it, I can honestly say I don't exactly like the exact look of the X, so I changed it in the side drawing. Anyway, its all cool, and thank you very much for your opinion

I love the first drawing... Even if the breach looked a little funny, I'd buy an SFL that looked like that!! SWEET

I would agreee with you if something like "AGD" was ingraved down the side. But the "x" over the breach flows nicely into the design, and in most peoples opinion looks good.

Only some SFL's have that milling, in fact most don't. I think most people like the standard milling, the addition of the "SFL" on the side clutters up the clean look of the milling.

Actually what they usually do is polish the whole gun, then mask off areas that they want to be kept polished (WDP does it with a sticker for their barbed wire designs) and then they bead blast the gun. You pretty much got it, just the wrong way around I expect it could be done your way but I don't know of anyone that does it that way. Once you've bead blasted something it would take a fair amount of effort to polish it back to a decent surface.
