Once you've bead blasted something it would take a fair amount of effort to polish it back to a decent surface.

Interesting, but it would take one hell of a sticker to mask off all the raised parts in Dave's design. It makes sense in the barbed wire design, but personally I think the barbed wire angels look cheesy.

Actually I like the barbwire Angel (nice in real life than pictures), I almost bought one and in the end my friend did. I do like the dust black look. The shiney areas look darker than the mat areas which is I think the look Dave is after.

It wouldn't be that hard to mask off Dave's design, just use masking tape. To go around the detail we'd just use that thin art masking tape which you can feed around curves quite easily. It would be easy enough to do that it would be worth the effort. At least in my opinion

Manike-let me know if you need me to change anything, or somehow your thinking about it just a little different. I will probably be working on a battery pack today, and putting a 'Final' draft picture, with the X-Mag body, the battery pack, the grip, the whole nine yards, and make it nicer than the very first picture.(cause the grip does look quite odd in it ) I need to do some work before I do this, but yeah, I can work on it a little later.

Dave, no worries, take your time. I'm also snowed under with 'real' work at the moment, and I still want to work on my own gun if/when I get chance.

no prob, your runnin' the show In the meantime I will continue to draw picures(hopefully redo the 2nd design, I didn't like it much either) and work on drawing some sketches for a battery pack.

Well, this mornings post that AGD made gave me a few more pictures to work with so this is a more final picture of the X-design, with a new battery pack design, which follows one of the lines of the X on the breech and forms an X on the front of the battery pack. More to come.

Okay....enough talk. Build that last one!!!!!!! I think the way you incorparated the X into the bat pac is awsome. Manike give this guy a free X-treme for all his hard work! Consider this a great big pat on the back from me Dave. Great job!

This is one I did, kind of a reversed gill as manike put it.

The milling wouldn't go all the way through the body, but leave you with a tube, kind of like the 68/classica mags body. ( So you wouldn't see the valve through the milled gills)

This is just something I drew when I was bored at work, I have another one I'm working on to.

Let me know what you think of it.

all i can say is that if you are doing this design plz dont kill it with the POS stock emag grips, we need something nicer looking for grips, the stock ones just ruin it. i looked at the new X-Mag pictures and the grips jump right out because they are just so plain and ugly!!!

Oh and BTW, DAVE I LOVE YOU, I WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABIES!!!

Dave... simply AMAZING ... but there is one thing i don't like about it... the back of the breech just kinda goes straight down... with all the curves of the body wouldn't u want it to kinda want it to curve back into the body...

                                instead of straight down like:
                                |
                                |
                                |

                                more like:
                                \
                                .\
                                ..\

                                p.s. don't mind the .'s
