    what is raptor rex's deal?

it is 4500 psi, adjustable 200-1000 psi and comes witha 68 ci 4500 psi tank and its 200 bucks?! the only thing it doesnt come with is a mounting rail. can you mount the air america rail on it?(the raptor rex is an air america reg) so why is it so cheap?

      A Raptor Rex is not a screw-in.

It is an adjustable which requires a cradle.

It does not have an on/off or an output guage.

There is no place to put it. There is only one output hole. So, if you are a little crafty, you could use some fittings and fit a guage on it, but it's going to take some playing around.

            Re:

I have one and I love it. For the output gauge I just got a VA with two ports on it. One for the gauge and one for the fitting that goest to the valve. I'm trying to save up enough to get a new one too.

              on off

what are the real advantages of having an on/off? what do really do exactly? im not familiar with hpa tanks.

The on/off allows you to turn off the flow of air. Without it, you can not take the tank off the gun unless you use something like a pro-connect, or turn down the reg.

I forgot about the slide check too. That solves your on/off problem. Just have a slide check with a QD and there you have it. It also totally degases your marker.

but ats another 40 or 50 bucks which would add up to a apoc. oh would a slidecheck be like a remote?

                          no.

as far as i know there are no screw in tanks wth a bult in on/off.

Of course i could be wrong.

Also, one thing about the raptor rex......it is very consistant but in order to turn it off you have to turn the reg all the way down, which means you will loose your pressure settings.

Thats not nessessarly true, you just need a slide check. I have had my Rex for over 4 years now and I have only fooled with the reg but a handfull of times(Only for cleanings)

SB is right on about the consistancy, I really can't say enough about the Rex. all you need is something like this:

All in all though, by the time you buy the slide check, the fittings, the guage, cradle, etc...you might as well buy an Apoc and you'll end up with a lighter reg even I believe.
